I wonder how long the process takes to make one pound of glass. It looks like each whole solar panel is around 100 watts maybe and that huge transparent plane is probably a fresnel lens to concentrate the sunlight for heat.

Very good question! I don't know the answer. :D
I checked the website and there is nothing much mentioned in there. I am just thinking it may take sometime at first because the project presented was just for testing. But it was in 2011, 7 years ago, so that actually makes me wonder what happened to the project. I hope it was pursued with further enhancements.
