RE: Say hello to the NettyVoter Bid Bot - 0.10 SBD minimum bid, 50% votes, 1.2 hour periods

in #steemit-dev8 years ago (edited)

I know you are just one person. What you can do is limited. You could of easily done more than you did though. Just choose not too. I consider you ignoring it because you read the post and decided it was no big deal. I explained to you why it was a big deal and you never replied. You are part of the Dev community so you would of been able to understand the problem and understand what it takes to fix it. You want to be a witness and promote Steemit. Then don't ignore issues and wait for them to become bad. You could easily prevent it.

EDIT: I never asked you to flag anyone. I recommended the other steemian not waste his SP. I asked you to help fix the problem

Ok so advise me... what would you have liked to see me do?

The @promoted account literally just gives free votes to people that SPEND THEIR MONEY and use the promoted feature.

Why in the hell do you think this is spam? I find it rather nice ....

In my opinion you are basically saying "So you want to be an elected government official so when you see someone jay walking DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ITS YOUR DUTY"

I think my time is better spent developing and programming instead of buying into all the network drama. Go join #steemitabuse channel. There is enough drama to go around for everyone.

I just dont give a fuck about it

Still nice of @promoted to be voting? Fuck yes it is.

Nice of the other user to abuse @promoted? No... but guess what, he is doing what is well within the rules. If @promoted had an issue with it... @promoted should blacklist the account. Because @promoted controls that.

Do you see where I am going with this?

I am not @promoted

EDIT: Why not send @promoted some transfers and attach a message in the memo telling him about the issue? But then isn't that just like spamming? Where is the line drawn? If the network is that goddamn unstable, it is a bigger issue than some spam.

I know that of course. But you are connected to dev's . You could bring this issue up and have it fixed. You use minnowsupport to promote yourself. You could use it promote fixing this issue aswel. You don't seem to realize or just ignore the fact that you have influence. I do not see why you are getting angry at me for thinking you would be able to talk to someone about it or at least make the issue known. Ignoring it is surely not the best route.

I am not getting angry as much as annoyed that you just want to say "fix it" and expect me to go solve the world's issues.

If you have a message you wish to send, even through me or minnow support, why not just ask buddy? I can easily promote your post thru minnow support....

It takes time to research and gather information and make a post. I am self employed and making sure I can eat, my friend. I prioritize my work to that which helps pays my bills.

I likely still would have got around to making a post about this had you just simply reminded me and politely asked. Instead you are rather forceful and telling me that I am not performing up to your standards.

And once again, @promoted is a RANDOM user. Not affiliated with Steem, SteemIt, MinnowSupport, or myself. He has made his own program with his own rules. I have no power, despite what you may say, over forcing him to change his programs rules.

It is very nice that you are so concerned about waht this guy does with his SP, but in real life if you saw someone giving money to homeless people would you freak out this much?

I am being honest and blunt. I do not see the need to beat around the bush when you are saying things like why should I flag people and other irrelvant things I have never asked for. I also never asked you to fix it like change the code. I simply thought you could talk to someone about it.

It is not being forceful to ask for help. Of course when you trivialize the thing I am asking for help about then emotions will run high.

Where do you suggest I find this @promoted to ask him? We have tagged in numerous times and he hasn't joined the conversation.

So what do I do next?

Do you want me to write a post? Why can't you do that yourself, link me, and politely ask for me to promote it?

I am frustrated when people just expect me to do things for free and dont consider how much time and effort this shit takes me. I appreciate your support, I will continue to support you, but I will likely not go much beyond a basic post that tags @promoted yet again and suggests that he implement a blacklist feature or only vote on users that put a minimum in the promoted feature.

Btw, if you figure out some magic trick of getting users to respond, then get me some witness votes from @thejohalfiles or @hendrikdegrote or @pumpkin. Steem has a SHITTY notification system and not everyone gets on SteemIt.chat
