Aaah doesntthe unpopular truth sound so refreshing.
I am loving your openness about this situation.
I 100%agree with everything you have said.
Heck, there was a time that steemit
was the top paying tag...its still is among the top.
I have noticed the trend of "steemit"related posts and how lucrative it is. I have also understood the intimidating effect ot has on newbies.
On a recent post I mentioned how easy it is to onboard new users compared to keeping them here for the long run.
Not being relatable, unable to provide them with the correct guidance, newbies not gettong enough attention and/or appreciation, looaing motivation and drive within the first few days...and so much more play a key role in us loosing so many talented and potentially gamechanging steemians.
I, personally have started advocating for the different dApps we have on steem to streamline new users and pld alike into the fields and niches they wpuld love to be a part of.
About you wanting to team up with people that want to tackle this issue, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND
They already doing such an awesome job. A collective effort would just take it to the next level. taking a look at @heyhaveyamet and Steem Terminal (@xcountytravelers and @brittandjosie)

Thanks for the recommendations. Those are all new names to me. I'll check them out.
I didn't realize this topic was an unpopular truth but just an observation I can't help but notice. I haven't ranted about it much and not really ranting about it now, but I do think we can make Steem what we want it to be by just doing it instead of waiting for someone to do it.
So, I'm just getting on with posting about other topics and am building a site to make it easier to find communities that th current sites.
introduceyourself posts and have to explain how to better their searches, their content, their everything and they are so appreciative that a real someone stopped by long enough to throw them a bone of information. It's rather sad.@luzcypher, new people are often encouraged to come here and get "money" for just posting a post and all will be well. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There are so many times we sort through the
However, there are quite a few people out there that will upvote the introductory posts and that makes the new Steemians very happy. But a couple of weeks later they are not getting hardly any notice, upvotes, or engagement. This is the time we should be investing our upvotes, time, and energy in these new people. Thank goodness for groups like @welcomewagon, @minnowbootcamp, so many others who grab up these people and mentor them.
This was the reason we started the discord server The Steem Terminal. We are a place where new people can come to figure out how to use discord, promote their posts, give real-time answers to their real-time questions, and help them find a place to get mentors. With that said, we are still trying to find all the mentoring communities in the discord side of the Steem Community. So, tell your friends who are into mentoring to come see us so they can meet and engage with new people. Here is the link to the server: https://discord.gg/XZGPGpz
Thanks so much for bringing this topic up and allowing me to talk a little about who we are and what we are trying to do.

Hey You @blind-spot! Thanks so much for the shout out! @brittandjosie and I work really, really hard to get the new people's introductions out there. It's rewarding for all of us really and I am so surprised more people aren't doing it. I just glad I have people out there who are following us and engaging with the new people we introduce.
