RE: How do you get your reputation to 50???

in #steemit5 years ago

It is rough for sure. The higher you go the harder it is to reach the next level. Bigger upvotes help get your rep up rather quickly. That is why you see a lot of people that buy votes with exceptionally high rep even though their content might not be the greatest. My best advice is to save up some SBD or STEEM and spend some time writing a really good post 500+ words with a lot of great pictures. If you can get noticed by @curie or one of the other curation groups you might get enough votes to give your rep that boost you need. If they don't notice you, you can always used the saved up Steem or SBD to buy the votes you need.

Thank you so much this helps me a lot. I didn't realize that you could buy votes or that it was a regular thing. Thanks for tagging the group.

Yes, you can buy votes. Some people frown upon it because people abuse the system by buying huge upvotes for relatively crappy content. That is the main reason most of the stuff in the "Trending" section is kind of junk if you haven't noticed already. I try to focus on just writing a handful of really high quality posts each week as opposed to several short posts per day. If you can get recognized and whitelisted, @ocd is a good group for buying votes that doesn't make a profit off of you like most of the other bots do. Also you should check out @oracle-d. They have some open tasks occasionally that if you participate one upvote from them will probably put you over 50.
