No shit I don't earn anything on my posts, I've been cashing out my SBD because it takes a week for a bot voted post to pay out and the price rises haven't sustained long enough for them to be profitable when I get no add-on votes from other people. I want to make a charitable fund here so I can upvote other charities and create a UBI, waiting for steem to drop precipitously and Tether to collapse before I do so I don't feel like a fucking idiot getting too antsy about buying back in and starting my charity work here. Seriously though why don't you go flag some posts of the people who are literally shilling for scamcoins right this second, a quick search shows that there are tons of people doing that.
Or better yet, why don't you upvote on some decent humanitarian work, there are some at least somewhat credible charitable activities going on and your votes would go a long way in helping people out right now. I have no idea what your investing horizon is on this website or if you're just using it for the lulz but your voting power is clearly enough to feed a couple tens of thousands of people in some pretty poor nations, and because of the economic dynamics of the website there are plennnnty of people like that to choose to help. I see your edit, I just joined recently, duh, I had no idea about steemit until a friend told me about it and I was hesitant to join because of how it's clearly set up like a potential cashout pyramid scheme by the founders, but after a few comments I realized that sometimes just talking to people was sort of worth my time if I was going to be able to eventually turn those 30 or 50 or 80 dollar comments into seed money for the project. I don't make much but I don't personally require much money to live so it's not like I'm here to get rich, the dystopian feeling of wading through posts that are voted on for thousands by a handful of circle-jerkers while tens of thousands of people from Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, etc. struggle to make a few cents on posts or comments and borrow money/SP and buy votes from already rich people is really fucking disturbing in how they're being exploited and told they can get rich some day by tons of the big posters here though.
You should find a way to enjoy life rather than fighting the inevitable.
I do enjoy life, and I enjoy whale hunting and nabbing a vote on a comment and knowing that I'm saving it for my UBI project, because I feel like we're missing the carrot in the carrot and stick equation when it comes to "dealing" with spammers and the flood of new users from impoverished nations. And I knew there was no possible way to get my own blog posts to generate the returns necessary in a short a time span as I collected my comment money so I feel like I did okay with the time I've invested here.
