RE: Recruiting New People for Steemit?

in #steemit6 years ago

I believe! I believe!

I'm fine with staying, treading water if I must. I don't have a success story to share yet. I've won some prizes and some recognition and to me it's thrilling. But explaining that to someone with no clue what I'm talking about? And even if I was wildly successful here I don't think anyone I know would be tempted to try it. It's going to have to tap into a whole different demographic.

You've got it! on all the points❗

I look for younger people to help and mentor and those who will benefit from the low values of STEEM.

I'm thinking it will be younger people too. You are doing a lot to support new people. I would be interested in hearing your advice for others here, suggestions on how to be a good mentor.

I believe in "do as I do, not just do as I say."

I am still looking for (and learning) the right way to attract, train, and retain new people. I think a lot will depend on the rewards that I am able to give.

Although my life experiences taught me a lot and are very valuable, they are for an entirely different audience.

So, I am really looking for mentors that can help those who we can attract. I "look" or "seek" to enable and empower them. You can be one of them and I'll be happy to see what you might have in mind.

My first step was the #ccc initiative. My second step is the #ccc contests that I host. My third step is co-sponsoring contests.

My next step is not getting any responses -

- my offers to sponsor a contest that a #ccc member would propose to host - her idea and my SBI or ? (whatever)
.

I guess the only kind of mentoring I've done, not sure if I'd call it that though, was nominating people for #pifc. I had to skip doing that for a couple of months but I plan to get back to it. I liked looking for new people to support.

You made that offer to me, to sponsor a contest, but I don't have clue one on how to do that. And I probably wasn't ready at the time to give my full concentration. (I think the pain meds made my brain foggy!) If you are still willing, I am willing to learn! (The idea you suggested was along the 'how we met' line.)
