And I tell you what.... it feels sooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooood :)
It feels so good because:
I finally get rid of the problem to have the Alt-coins on the exchanger which is never a good idea....
I will have more Steempower, so commenters on my blog getting higher rewards...
I will get higher Rewards from voting other posts...
I know 2,21$ is still a cheap price, compared to what Steem will cost in the future...
I am now a bit closer to the 100MV which is my personal goal...

Is there a way to calculate how much vote power gives how much reward ?
Because i see people with 11k SP giving out like 0.09$
Voting weight is squared Steem power.
11*11=0.12$
This particular user was probably at around 75% of their voting power

Well, it's changing in the next update i think. Voting power will be made linear to give the minnow votes more weight relative to users with very high Steem power. Currently the voting power is much more concentrated within a very few users (merely 50-60 users control ~65% of the reward pool, for a perspective)
It's not that straightforward because it depends on may factors, but in general your voting power is proportional to the square of your Steem Power, if you're not voting in concert with others. It's even more when you vote along with others (proportionate to the square of total r-shares applied).
FYI this is changing to a linear system with the coming hardfork.
Nice to see your comment here. @elyaque is one of the best supporters of this platform since a long long time. And his report got very often only one or two bugs payout, while other were permanently pumed by some whales. I am glay now that the man who deserves it mst gets fair payouts too. I did something very similar.
I got rid of a bunch of alts to limit my day trading, then bought n' powered up steem for a bit of hodlin'.
The price also went up immediately, so that didn't hurt.

Personally I have been selling, but only my liquid Steem, none of my powered up stake. I will start buying again when I feel like people are panicking again.
We will see how it's going, I talked to a lot of users, and some of them where wrong about it, Steem went up, now they cry, because they haven't bought more.... but hey you never know, I only see the big picture here, if Steemit comes out of beta and we will have marketing, this shit will explode, as simple as that !

I did exactly the same! I sold Ripple, NEM, and ether for Steem Power, not even bothering to go via Steem! Power that shit up and support this system! Even €10 is cheap for one Steem!

I want to do the same, but I'm not 100% sure how Steem Power helps with the content that I'll post. Also, I know you get some Steem out of the new mined Steem every month for holding Steem Power, but that too isn't very clear. If there's a guide on this, it'd make it so much easier for new users like me to send Steem to Steemit and hold it here instead of my other crypto wallets.
With more Steempower the rewards for your commenters will be higher, like this you will have more followers, with more followers you will have more upvotes, and the game starts again.... so yes Steempower helps :)

It goes down, if you vote, but it recovers after 24h :) So if you vote and your voting power goes from 100% to 80% on the next day it will be 100% again. If you drain it completely you have to wait 5 days to be at a 100% again.

I still strongly believe in the technology and the fact that it bubbled in the beginning due to too much attention. So i expect it to go up to around 400 ish which i think it is worth right now.
of course money is not everything, but still I like that i t has risen so much. I bought only 50 dollar of steemit and no it is 560 dollar!! But I think it will fall back in the short term to maybe 0,5 to 1 dollar in the coming days. But in the long run it will rise significantly.
Why you think it will go down to 50 cents? And yes I see the long-therm pictue, if it does go down to 50 cents, I will buy a bunch more of it :)

Hell yeah! I sold a bunch of Digix DGD I have been hold last week and bought steem, which became SP. So happy. I think its a great investment and love being able to give a little bit to the post and people that I feel deserve it. Its motivating to create better content when you have something to give. Love the steem stats interface btw, sick stuff!
