I understood i need steem power to star with Steemit, thats why i am gifted 0.5 steempower to start with. But does this mean i use this power when i upvote ? Post ? Comment ? reply ? And is Upvote same like the "Like" concept of FB ?

There is a big section which describes it all under FAQ, when you click the popdown menu next to you profile picture in the top right corner.
And there are even better descriptions about how everything works on here somewhere, dont know where that was to be found right now though.
But to give you a quick answer. No you dont spend your steem power by voting. You can even gain more by it, getting it after 7 days. The more steem power you have the more valuable your upvotes become. I have seen a single upvote adding 60$ of value to a post

It's still very confusing. If you don't pay yourself for an upvote who does? It goes out of a pool with money, who pays that money? Advertisers?
posting, commenting and replying give you steem. upvote takes it away.
Where did you see that upvoting takes your steem?

Well i was actually upvoting everything i ready and found my voting power is still 0.5 thats why i wondered

Out of interest how come your reputation hasn't grown vastly in the last 7months? Have you become less active on Steem or does Steem just award less reputation points to ratio the longer you have been here?

just keep, talking to people on the comments that have the same interests as you. you will get a group of people that follow you that are interested in what you have to say.
I read somewhere that the ideal amount of times to upvote a day was 20. I've only been here a day though and am totally lost. lol

From my understanding, just when you upvote. It's the same concept as FB but if you upvote everything you will lose your steam influence. If your upvote counts for 0.02 and you keep upvoting stuff, it will go down to 0.01.
but how can they tell i really read and liked something so i upvoted it or just keeps upvoting everything ? may be something related to number of upvotes/time
No it doesnt depend, if you really read stuff. But only around the first 10 upvotes have full value, so better just upvote stuff that is worth it. If you just want to grab the couple of cents and dont support good writers with it, then you should check the photography tag and just upvote pretty pictures there, this will take less time.
Something else that is necessary to know is, as far as i understood it, the most rewards for curation go to the first 10 upvoters. So it would be best for you to always be on the new page instead of trending or hot.
But you get the most out of posting Quality content indeed. Dont spam or copypaste lots of small articles.
If you have good content you will quickly get followers. I have seen one getting nearly 200 in around 4 days! And he writes really original and informative stuff!
I also read that if you upvote in the first 30 mins, 90 something % of the steem goes to the creator... Is this true?
