Steemit has to be approached with eyes and mind wide open. Whatever expectations you may have, they will lead you to disappointment. It is like nothing that has ever been tried before. Expecting facebook? It will disappoint. Expecting twitter? It will disappoint. Expecting get-rich-quick I think most get over, but if you expect to have a post make as much as @"thatothersteemian" because yours is on the same topic and maybe you have better credentials... but he has 10K followers and you have 10, you are going to be disappointed. Over and over, you are probably going to have steemit disappoint. I would say expect nothing, except to be disappointed, then just hammer away and see what happens. You might just discover the rewards outweigh the unmet expectations.

Yes!!! Controlling expectations is the key to almost everything. Especially Steemit. I just try to keep moving forward and adding what I can. I'm here for the long run. Thanks for the great reply. I think you are spot on.
