RIP... Great Time Consuming Content!
That blockchain was really a huge mess since the start (read the mining joke) - I saw now 5 great authors leaving the platform in just a few weeks. It seems the idiots from offline world discovered internet and straight register on Steemit - the guys what have no life and mostly are the stupids terrorize their neighbors.
It seems when you have nothing to say in real life you must be an asshole online, simple as that. Now we have them here - the Steemit police, the few Germans why Germans nobody on whole planet like.

I will not mention the names here but one thing is clear... fucking upvoting flower pictures circles & poor housewife art (nobody offline would watch) voting gangs will not make Steemit great again - Batman has the only answer for them!

This seems like a great platform. there's nothing wrong with people just posting pictures of flowers or just memes.

of course but when they start to hunt away the professional content creators what put really a lot of time in it then you can straight say there is not a lot left. Yeah some losers what are in real life also joked - the Chemtrail people and other stupids, lol.
I thought Steemit was supposed to be average people. A community coming together and thumbing our noses at the professionals. Don't get me wrong, I actually pay a few people monthly on here. Their work is worth the money. (Through Patreon) Anyway, I look at pictures too. I use those pictures to uplift my spirit when I am kinda down. So, if some professional thinks Steemit isn't worth their time. See ya, as far as I am concerned. But, I want to see normal average unprofessionals do good here. I haven't posted anything. May never. But, I still want to be part of this community. I want to develop relationships, and hopefully live a fuller life in the process. Soooo, bring on the pictures! Cheers.
Thanks for such a nice response. You can check his own blog for pictures, lol, like the face of a cow. Steemit is for who ever shows up here and develops connections with people. It's AOK to never posts anything here, but to leave comments and connect with people! Here's to enjoying your time on Steemit!
I mean... you kind of have to prepare for this kind of thing to happen with a platform like this. This is something that you can make a living off of so of course people will do their best to get theirs.
The "problem" is that people are not very liberal with their upvotes. We come from a facebook and instagram world where likes are given pretty freely but around here that isn't really the case. This is causing people, for a variety of reasons, to do what they can to turn the tides in their favor.
I feel like people should be a little more giving with their upvotes but we definitely need to do some policing of the poor content and plagiarized content and users who make it a point to only contribute this type of content. Its all part of the evolution of this platform and i think as long as the community cares and is willing to put in the work the platform will be fine.

The thing is quality content creators can also earn their money somewhere else... when they leave & only the crap stay -> Steem will be the idiots blockchain. It will only success if there is quality content that attract masses - not the bullshit whats 99% today.

yeah thats why YT works - not the most but the most in their market, niche or audience. That the mass on people are plain stupid nowadays and watch that crap - well, for that YT can also nothing :)

Dont be an ass putting people with less knowledge down. Rather lift them up. Even if my grandma joined and posted pics of her teeth, I wouldnt complain. Let them learn and discover

They were lucky to be here first. I assume, if Steemit establishes itself as a platform it will be similar to what happened on youtube. the first ones will fade and the real creators will reign

I agree. There is too much of steemit sharing their early member's posts too often going just for numbers.
But I also see people grow pretty good. Always keep in mind that great things take time. the early ones just blew up like they always do. Create it yourself. In a year you will thank yourself
I am also not sure if I am here in a year any more - too many stupids coming in. I think on long term I will move to Golos :)

I don't wanna defend them, but most of them start drinking alcohol at noon. So probably they don't even know what they publish sometimes :-)
What I've still not discovered in one year is if they even have "Gartenzwerge". Then the stereotype of the average frustrated German trouble maker would be simply perfect to me.

Who are you to judge people's taste, preferences and needs? Your post seems very nonconstructive and more of a rant, all the while putting yourself on a really high(!) pedestal.
I wouldn't personally deem this post of yours quality content, but that's totally fine right?! Other people obv. appreciate it because you already have 71 upvotes. To each his own I'd say!
It's not HARD to avoid shitty content on Steemit and you have a lot of control over the content that gets suggested to you, so to speak. Unlike on YouTube for instance, where they are constantly pushing random videos REALLY HARD and where they are making it really hard for you to filter for what you want.
It sucks when people have to deal with trolls on this platform but coming from YouTube, Steemit has been a huge eye opener to me. IF people have criticism then they tend to relay that in a very constructive way here, which I think is great. I follow @surfermarly too and I am sad to see her leave. Her resteem made me stumble upon this post but her post about her leaving seemed very genuine and realistic and I was surprised to see how much she appreciated your post because I didn't really get any of what you said from her post when I read it. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for posting @hastla, it's an important discussion we should have.
I've been keeping my eye on steemit for a couple of weeks now and have been turned off by using the platform for this exact reason.
But lets put this into perspective. How many people really use FB for their source of good content? Why would Steemit be any different? Steemit is trying to be more like FB not like Wikipedia, should there be a Steemit more like Wikipedia, maybe it's a project to think about?
Human nature will always choose the more fun and easy content, which title would you click on, Man Escapes with his life on train.... or The Foundation of Post Modern.... Steemit is still developing a culture, this is the time to make new associations and support people with like minded interests, forget about the payout.
Maybe this calls for a tag, Quality Content?

I do a little bit of cospiracy theory here: let's assume the platform is a menace for 1) other platforms willing to replace it, 2) everyone believing the “attention economy” must not be part of a feasable economy. Then, you send hordes to make the place unpleasant and drive healthy people away, hoping for the avalanche until there will be silence and the place will be dead.
This is why I suggest to resist, resist, resist! (Though myself am not contributing very much these days, but it hasn't anything to do with steemit itself)
This hurts, I admit. But this won't let me down. I love taking pictures (not saying that I am a professional photographer)... and flowers is one of my favorite subjects. If they (quality content authors) blame us (those who post flowers or any other photos) for their leaving, I'm sorry. Personally, I am just starter... But to be honest, I feel relaxed whenever I see photos of flowers or nature (or other subjects) here.
Maybe instead of bringing us (or them who consistently do the thing) down and making us/them feel that we/they are not helping Steemit to be great... Why not give constructive criticism... or simply support them in what they do (voting for or following them isn't necessary).. just let them post their creations...
After all, what I know about this platform is that anyone can share whatever they want to share... regardless of the content as long as it will not create conflict.

I think you misunderstood it little - it was no personal thing against your hobby - it was just the case that some idiots with flower upvoting circles were an asshole to some other what provided high quality time consuming content with resulting her in finishing Steem. So in fact poor content circles are behaving like they would have rented Steemit and following the great authors will leave as they also can earn off-Steemit - trash will stay.
Yeah... I believe it wasn't personal... It was just my opinion tho'... Maybe they could be warned if they continue doing whatever they do so the great authors won't leave? I don't know what could be the best action for this... Just my opinion... 😊
The only thing you can do when a group of people starts attacking you (like in this specific case) is to ignore them. There is no warning, no defense, no police or whatever that might help you here. It's a decentralized system where everybody is responsible for their own doings. If you get in trouble you have to bring yourself out. Nobody will do that for you.
A group of assholes decided on trying to tear me down. So I decided on taking a break and leaving them the space they need for their doings. I'll be back in a couple of months hoping that they have found some other targets in the meantime.
It's not about flowers believe me :)
