Hi @choogirl, great to hear from you! Thanks for the kind words. I think there are a few Steemians in Panama - maybe you can find each other. 😊😊

Yes, I already know a bunch of them. We've had one meet up, but we are not as organised as you guys with an event like this.
Well, we have to give credit to @jacor and his team for tirelessly leading the Steem Saturday charge two years in a row. They put in a tremendous effort engaging with Steemit Inc.
A lot more goes into these events than meets the eye.
I couldn't agree more. I've been involved in small scale event management and have worked closely with professional conference organisers, some of whom have become good friends, over the years. The common success factors I've observed are excellent project management underpinned by a maniacal attention to detail.
Detail is key. People notice it. I have been involved in event management myself. When I lived in Germany for my MBA I had a job at a catering business where we worked as waiters at big corporate and other events. Sometimes until 6 am. Was pretty hectic. German managers are quite strict sometimes.
Every event could use a little German-style management. Wow, 6am...that's hard.
In Hamburg most places are open until 6 am.
