Steemit Ethics

And continued value

Forging a new paradigm

Those that joined early on Steemit forged their own path and way, learning how to add information with enough value for all in the community. When we all started blogging here, we all had posts that earned ZERO, but with valuable posts that many would enjoy had we had the larger audience, built over the time and efforts here, now.

The value is still there

Would it be worth re-posting it again, like a series on self heath recipes. Now this type of information never goes out of style, could help your newer and larger audience as well as possibly gaining the worth of that article that did not earn anything due to your being a newbie without an audience.

Platform Archives

Now since the Steemit Platform is somewhat archiving the blogs (only showing more recent posts, unless searched for), none of your followers will find it without searching. But how would they know how or what to search for in anyone's specific blog?

Re-cast them to our new population

So would it be ethical to re-post some of these old posts, that you know will help some people (not the day to day stuff, but more lifetime skills)?

Many times when a question is posted, few will throw in their opinions or their knowledge on the subject. However as a Steemit community we should discuss questions concerned with it... your opinions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've thought about that too - I did dozens of good posts that made bugger all but reposting them feels like cheating.

But it was 18 months ago. I might start doing a few. I wonder if cheetah packs a sad?

Maybe it should have a time period assigned so that the authors works are not accessible by browsing. We should also think about continuous upvote possibility, so an old post that was still valuable to a reader they should still be able to upvote it. And we definitely need a post management system to make it easier for folks here to find these old posts.

one of the easiest ways to find articles we've ever posted is to store links in one folder on your laptop, so we're easy to find.
Because it will be very difficult to find old posts, especially if we forget the title, may be very inconvenient.

I think it is easy enough to search the posts as you add your handle and search words... however this does not perpetuate the value in either direction. The reader would not know to search an author and with links, after 7 days the author gains no value... bring it back up could help... but as one contributor stated here, the ethics would be questionable. SO do we allow this platform to be a new addition only value centric or should we take matters into our own hands and re-post (like a delayed reSteem)?

When they get nothing out of what they do, in my opinion, it goes back to the individual. Maybe we should re-learn from previous posts, to get maximum results, in accordance with what is needed by the world of steemit.

Yes of course this is a natural progression forward, but should we ignore value or information from the past?

we do not ignore it, because it is very unwise if we do not appreciate our own work, but now we are just trapped by the difficult system we break through.

Apart from the many brilliant ideas our say, but people do not see them.

you made a good point!
as you said it will help gaining the worth of that article that did not earn anything due to your being a newbie without an audience.
i totally agree ,as a newbie your posts never get the attention they deserve irrespective of content

Few ever did, early on... but that does not mean these posts should slip into obscurity if the value is not dated.

thank you for the understanding and knowledge that you give, it is very important for me who just started to play steemit and not so understand about argument and science that I have live now, hopefully I will become success like you, hopefully you more successful and useful for people many @kyusho

U got quite a few followers for ur account age, so there's always that

Yes and I am grateful, however that does not bypass the issue of once posted, information has a shelf life... into obscurity. If Steemit is a social platform, as well as an information depository, we should maintain a library along side.

I used to think there was no harm in reposting an article that you already published sometime back. When somebody explained to me how it is not right and even asked me to imagine how the steem blockchain would be filled with information that is not really needed since it is already there if everyone started reposting. It somehow made sense. I think if one wants the new audience to access information from old posts, instead of reposting the old posts, drop the links on latest posts.

Yes but that still does not help the author gain monetarily for their efforts... this platform should also include constant upvote possibility as if an old post was linked and the reader gained from it, they should still be able to upvote it.

This would entice people to make even higher quality content as opposed to quick one off posts.
