Most people do it this way. I have been doing this from the very beginning. Rewarding engagement is the whole purpose of rewards on comments.
But currently the incentive structure is allowing selfish users to abuse the platform to simply print themselves money, without contributing anything to the community. This is why I am working so hard to get these things fixed.
