I think it may be even better to have the credits to use in this system to be something you can be rewarded for (As a former gambling addict I think it would be in poor taste to allow people to gamble away their earnings, but that is not my decision) I feel @steve-walschot should be rewarded a small amount with each spin and that advertisers should fund the winnings. Best of both worlds. Even if @steve-walschot only made a nickel worth of SBD initially and slowly decreased it over time due to to volume of people playing, he would make a lot of money, while entertaining users at the same time.
You are 100% right. Even those SBD we receive seem unreal, they are real money. I also believe it would be impossible to incorporate winnings in SBD or steem without someone losing them.
I think by having advertisers fund the pool to pay out from (by having a feed with optional ads), as I said in the above comment (with this link Proposal To Bring Non Intrusive Optional Ads To Steemit ) might be great for everyone if the developers decide that is a route they wish to go.
