Have you noticed that the number of stories in your Steemit feed have suddenly dwindled? Does it feel like you aren't seeing as many new authors or the same number of articles from your favorite Steemians?
It’s all because of the M-O-N-E-Y.
In “real” US dollar terms, payouts on Steemit are down at least 70-80% from their highs in December. Steemians who quit their day jobs at the end of last year are suddenly scanning “help wanted” ads and trying to figure out how they will make rent this month. Newbies who were excited about a 50¢ upvote on one of their comments suddenly don’t see the point in participating anymore.
Hang tight and keep Steeming
If there is any lesson to take away from the wild swings we've seen over the last 90 days, it is that Steemit is an investment, not a way to get rich quick. Veteran Steemians know that it's the work you put in during the down times that pays off huge when things turn around. And things might be about to turn around in a big way, leaving those that put in the extra time to reap the rewards when Steem hits $10 or $15 and our votes are worth 3-5 times more.
Steemit rewards grinders. Followers are earned one at a time and anyone with great followers will tell you that each one is worth their weight in gold (or Steem). Take the time now while there is less competition for eyeballs to capture the dedicated Steemit users who are still engaging with the platform in the down times. The Steemians around now are more likely the ones with the most Steem Power too, so they are literally the most valuable users on Steemit.
Don't get discouraged by the short term pain. Keep Steeming and we'll keep building the future we believe in.
Thank you for following, upvoting and resteeming!

I'm just starting to get back to Steemit along with DTube, and DMania. The rewards will come but I'm here because I like the platform not because I'm trying to make some quick money.
@jroy I agree. I really like this platform. I understand why others may have fled, but I’m staying here. This is the best platform I’ve ever visited or written on. I’m invested.
Hey Nathan I did seem to notice a drop off of cool stuff on my feed, but I just took it as a good opportunity to explore the site some more.
Thanks for bringing us over. :)
I am so glad Nathan brought us over too. I’m thrilled to be here. I’m actually writing content now and excited to have followers who aren’t doing so because they are my family and friends and are already fairly like-minded. This platform is something entirely different & it’s so awesome!
Well, for me it´s no ghost town. I find interesting articles to read every time I refresh my stream and quality is increasing in my view. One of the reasons being, that people realize, that they only will get rewarded, if they keep the quality of their postings high. For me personally I also just post, when I really have to say something of value and if this is only 3-4 times per week it´s fine and the rest of the time, I just keep commenting and interacting with people. ...and yes, Steemit is a long term investment for sure!
You’ve described my experience thus far as well. I find that when the content I post is most relevant or interesting to me & closely relates to what is important to me is when I receive the most energy as a response to my post. I love the quality of the posts. I don’t mean to overstate the obvious. I just meant that I don’t resteem everything just because I like the fellow steemian. I wait for what resonates with me, because if I only resteemed something because I like the poster...well then that’s sort of how the whole censorship/consumerism/advertisers/corporations/bureaucratic bullshit of the other sites or things as we’ve known it usually works...this way what is truly popular rises to the top because the ideas are popular not just the person is popular or getting paid or getting pressure to like something. I love steemit for so many reasons!
Great article. Things should turn around in March.
Ironically the value of your vote is related to your account value as much as it is to SP. While my SP increased, my VP decreased in the last couple of days. This in combination to the SBD to Steem ratio, people are also less likely to buy more Steem and are hoarding SBD instead or paying Bots. You are right about continuing posts because the Steem gained will still have the potential to dramatically increase in value at a later date. I'm wondering though, if it wouldn't be better at this point to get payouts in 100% Steem instead of the standard 50-50 SBD/Steem. Greetings!
hi nathan, your right we are in this for the long haul.Or at least we should be
Since steemit is still in the development stage I can see plenty of room for growth. I don’t think it’s going anywhere & I'm here for the long haul. I look forward to any time I have available to be on steemit. I feel like telling people that I’m a part-time researcher.
100% true.
Well I haven't noticed, but I'm new (wasn't around in December). I think Steemit has a lot of potential but there is a lot that needs to be worked out.
Demonetizing all posts after 7 days, for example, only lends itself to news-ish like content. It is not good for many types of creative content or knowledge articles that should have a MUCH longer shelf life.
I could go on but I should probably write my own post about it.
Yes, write your own post about it. I find myself saying this often too after I’ve written quite a bit as a response. Lol
Steemit rate very low .Maximum steemiter condition is not good..

I agree with your opinion .this is so true.More than two weak the rate of SBD are going very low.We lossing our inpiration
