Why Do People Even Use Any Other Form Of Social Media, Besides Steemit. (Rant)

If you're not an Instagram model getting paid to show your ass, then why are you still on Instagram? My answer, is to view the Instagram Models showing off their ass haha. The only reason I use Facebook anymore is to stay in touch with my close friends and family. I feel that's why most people who are on Steemit still use other forms of social media, is to keep in touch with their close friends and family. Now, if we get all our close friends and family on Steemit we won't need to even use another form of Social Media.
For me, The king of Social Media outside of Steemit is Twitter.

Twitter is hands down my most utilized form of Social Media. The search bar in Twitter is your tool for live news. You can search what everyone is tweeting about in real time. When a big event is going down, I search twitter to see what's happening. it's been very useful during awful events too, like terrorist attacks, horrible storms, and other major events. With the search bar in Twitter you have access to photos, videos, and information as everything is unfolding. You can find out what's happening before it's even reported on the news. It's also great for getting the truth out. Major News Networks tend to spin facts about an event to benefit their end game. With Twitter, it's impossible to censor every single person, if you dig deep enough you can find the truth. The Twitter search bar is great for conspiracy theorists like myself haha.

Steemit needs to adopt a search bar that can be utilized just like Twitter's!!!
There is a couple things Steemit could change to be even more elite. Like the Twitter search bar, and a in platform messaging system. But, it's miles ahead of the competition, no other platform lets you get paid the way Steemit does, for your ideas and thoughts. It's in a league of it's own.***

What are your favorite Social Media Platforms?
What would you like Steemit to add to its platform?

Sort:

I don't use twitter, I don't use instagram, but I do use Facebook just to show the world that I am not dead! Steemit is the only way I prefer to post anything, community kicks ass, and you can actually write about real life things!!

Facebook is just flooded with videos. It's rare that someone post just text on there anymore lol

I do love the search bar on twitter, there is a sort of decent one for Steemit you may know about it already: https://www.asksteem.com

Awesome!! Thank you for showing me this I will definitely have to check this out :) This is the first I've seen it!

Cool, I'm glad to help :)

The reason might be because we need to make a good post on steemit, while we can just post a word or sentence in facebook. but have to agree about wacthing the model ass on instangram. LOL

Preach on Preachaaaa!!

I think the concept of Steemit is amazing, but the execution is still being worked out. It's pretty good now, but nowhere near the levels of sophistication that Twitter or Facebook are at.

Will we get there? Yeah, I think so. But I think there's quite a bit of work and time for all of us to do first.

Short Answer:

Steemit is still not PUBLIC!!!
We are just in Beta Release, lack features, (as you noted) and
bandwidth Sucks! I think public release is still about a year off,
but we have some Fantastic Whales and Dolphins running this outfit!

I'm a content creator and I've been on social media pushing my message since 2010. I use about 15 platforms for various reasons and these are the best:

  • LinkedIn for my resume
  • Pinterest for my online filing cabinet of ideas and affiliate sales
  • fb groups I join my various interest and genres for instant info and feedback
  • fb pages I run for affiliate sales and promotion
  • Twitter for connections and affiliate sales

Right now Twitter is the big winner for me as far as Steemit goes. I got here in June but did not focus on tweeting steemit stuff until Mid-August. I already have a good twitter with 5500 tweeps in my niches. I keep active there with automatic scheduling 24/7 and then going in at least once a day to interact.

For steemit I tweet continually now with scheduling and it's about 70% of my feed.

My Steemit posts include:

  • my own posts for 5 days heavy rotation and then set to repeat forever much more slowly
  • most Steemit posts I upvote at least once with the steemit tweet button
  • I tweet about half of the posts I upvote on the 5 day rotation and about 10% of those get set to go forever like mine. Those 10% are the really cool ones that make steemit look good in my opinion.

I started a steemit twitlist when I got here and found friends already on steemit. Now my list has over 100 steeming tweeps on it. I ReTweet out from this feed with schedulers and in real time many times a day.

Quite a lot of the steemians on my list are very active on twitter too and we are really making an impact in that cold dead world. I'm getting all kinds of ReTweets of steemit posts from my non-steeming friends.

Steemit posts look fantastic on Twitter. The interface makes a great looking tweet easily.

I coach twitter and will be doing a steemit post series of "Twitter Tips for Steeming Tweeps" soon. A few tweaks and we take over the place :)
