I'm very new to the steemit community, however I have already realized how much more important comments are here than on other social media platforms. Comments here are what make the community happen, as opposed to the relations between people that already know each other. However, steemit has relatively fewer users than other platforms, therefore it is much more important that you write comments, because there is a much smaller chance someone has posted something with a similar opinion. What do you think will change, when more and more people join steemit, and the community will become enormous?

Steemit isn't really different from other social media. The core is still interaction but here you really have to get active to get to know people as the userbase is still small :)
