Hey everyone!
So I recently discovered steemit. The one problem I see, which has been discussed a bit already, we've got to get more users on here. I've had some thoughts about how to get some big names on the site and gather some more traction. Perhaps if an article, say from the New York Times or a large blog, were posted here by a current user and earned a bunch of steem, then original author of the article could be emailed with something along the lines of:
Dear John,
Someone made $5,178 by posting your article on Steemit.com.
You may want to contact the poster _____ on steemit.com.
The author will get emotionally intrigued thus bringing them to steemit.com.
Is this crazy? Crazy in a bad way? Let's get more people on steem!
Interesting strategy, however, not sure if kicking off a social media platform using what could be considered "misleading tactics" is the best PR in the world. The best form of marketing for social media is word of mouth, innovation and culture. Steem has the innovation, a little young for word of mouth and definitely has a long way to go with culture
I've thought of that tactic too, but it is misleading because the whole amount doesn't go to the poster, and we don't know what'll happen with the value of steem on July 4th and after...
