What is the best posting frequency on Steemit?
This question I will handle in this Post.
When we get to know this platform all of us are still learning about it. It doesn't matter if you are a minnow, dolphin or whale. This platform brings in irregular intervals new features, and often these new features are bringing something new to learn about it to get the most out of this platform. This counts for all of us.
One of those questions to get the most out of Steemit is for example: What is the most beneficial posting frequency?
Let me tell you right up front: There is no one best rule!
It depends on different factors like mostly our circumstances in our private lives. We have all different starting points, and we need to be aware of that. It would be misleading to compare yourself to someone who is quite longer than you on this platform or even a full-time steemian.
But what we can do for now is to ignore all these different circumstances and trying to answer this question from a neutral perspective.
Also, there is a difference if someone has experience in blogging before or not. Some people get the first time in touch with blogging through this platform. But the question is what would be the best posting frequency to get the most out of Steemit right?
This question includes effort you have to do. We all have! Surely in a way that you can make it, but you have to put an effort in it. From this point, I want to try to answer this questions.
I would definitely recommend making a sprint first, not a marathon. This would mean trying to post in a short time many contributions.
If you are not familiar with blogging, I would say trying to post every second or third day. Better every second.
Why should you start with a sprint?
To get more exposure, people start getting to know you. If they see you constantly posting even, if your rewards may not be like in your imagination, your name is getting out in this community. And this is the first important step.
After you have made your sprint, you need to change your strategy to a marathon, because Steemit is a marathon. So every athlete has his own strategy for a marathon, but one is for sure. They try to keep their speed equal to the distance they have to run.
One important goal running a marathon is to reach the end. No one is interested if you reached the highest speed of all competitors but on the half you are finished.
I assume now that people who are already longer here got more familiar with blogging. I know that there are people who comment more as they write posts but the focus right now is on posting frequency. I don't consider those people right now. Also not the posting quality, but this is also for another contribution.
So what is exactly the best posting frequency for those people?
In my opinion, with the goal to get the most out of this community, this includes more exposure within the community, more connection with others, and more financial rewards.
And knowing that Steemit is a marathon, you need a long breath.
I would say the best post frequency would be once a day. At least every second day.
I honestly believe that the more consistent you are, the better the total output. See yourself as an apple? tree.
It takes time to grow and bear fruits. But between this time the seed need the required conditions to get to the point where it actually bears fruits. Without these circumstances, it will never get to the blessed point. Means no fruits, or in our place, never the rewards you expect.
First, the seed needs to experience cold temperatures. This is like building a fundament to grow. Let us say that these cold temperatures are your thoughts if you can make it. You are questioning yourself, you are not sure if you have the skills to become one day a whale for example. Or to make a living out of Steemit.
This winter could also be other people attacking you, what we already saw here in this community. But the seed needs? to pass through this coldness. There are few things more for an apple seed to make sure it could grow to a big apple tree, but let's make a jump now.
These three things the growing seed need consistently.
Without them, it cant grow to bear fruits. When the tree is small, it needs help to grow, but if it reached one day, a certain height nature would make the rest, in our case Steemit dynamics are taking control.
You see, more comments, more upvotes, higher financial rewards, what motivates you to go forward and you are growing and growing until the fruits are coming.
To get there, it needs consistent conditions. Posting frequency is one of them. But as I said you cant generalize it or make a doctrine about it, also it's not guaranteed that you will bear fruits. But if you don't do the required first steps you destroy your chance at the very beginning.
To grow takes time never forget that.
I believe once a day at least every second day is a beneficial frequency for this steemit marathon if you want to get the most out of it. Yes, you can do more of course, but watch yourself not to burn out. I am doing this not myself. Now in the holidays I have the capacity and try to post every day, but when during the preparation for the next half of the season it will be difficult, but that's totally fine for me. You have also to be ok with your decision.
What I shared with you I am not doing myself but nevertheless, I am convinced that this could be a beneficial way to grow during this Steemit marathon.
By the way, you know what the best thing is when the apple tree is fully grown and is bearing fruits?
Other are enjoying the fruits YOU produced.
Fantastic post, my friend. It is all about regular consistent work. The more the merrier. I am lucky to be a full-time Steemian and hence I can grind harder than 99.9% of all others here. But like you said one must avoid to burn out. Right now I am having the time of my life.
Thank you, my friend :)
I am glad to year that you are a full-time steemian. You are definitely making this community a better place :)
May this time last foreverr :)

100% upvote.
This post is so liberating, because I tend to compare myself sometimes which isnt good for me... Especially in art and with artists. SoThanks for the reminders and insights!
My friend, I know this so well.
I also catch myself comparing to other Soccer players, but It#s not healthy in my opinion.
Well it seems consistency is important everywhere. If you Want to be popular on youtube you need consistency. It seems to be so even for steemit. If one is consistent with quality content, then he will definitely succeed.
That's it. :)
thanks for your article and it will help me a lot sure and others too. I want to become a apple tree this article is the most guiedline ever for me.thanks again.
I am happy to hear that my friend :)
I am sure you will become a giant apple tree :)
can u please tell me is there any way i can understand steem more vastlg.I am using steem in about three month. I want learn about steem more. I want to stay here and also want to earn my living from it.
I like your analogies here @modernpastor! Consistency is ultimately the key, especially since this is social media-- you must be willing to put yourself out there regularly if you want to be seen. As a 20-year blogger and lifetime writer, the best strategy is to simply go forth and trust that the Universe will see to it that those interested in what you have to say will find you!
Of course, how fast and far you go will also depend on how much time you have available.
Bright Blessings to you!
Thanks for your confirmed comment. :)
You made a good point. How much time we have available plays a significant role :)
Thanks for reading :)
Thanks for the informative posts. After reading your write up it educate and help me to analyze many things in blogging as a newbie.

For me as a beginner it is such a great.
Happy to be here and find such good posts. Thank you
I am glad that it helps you :)
The success of this platform depends on the new user who are coming and bringing their part. That's why it's important to support all but especially the beginners :)
Well bro amazing information your post is always good @modrenposter i just upvote you
Thank you, my friend :)
I like your post to come to understand just so science also please follow me too
I can't agree more with you.Your word alone is powerful. It's one of the reasons why I write. To influence people... to motivate them... through writing and the things that I like. Before Steemit, my words may be powerful but they're not spread that much... but here on Steemit, people all over the world read, understand and become inspired. Being able to share my thoughts through writing means a lot... and it being spread to more people is overwhelming. Somehow, in my little way... through the words I put into writing, I have made a difference. It doesn't end with me, though... All Steemians are doing their best, too. As you've said sir Terry... it's a network of like-minded people. I'm really glad how my motivational series gets attention from people. I hope they can learn something from it. By the way, your feedback is much appreciated as always... Being a great mentor and someone I look up to, your words are very powerful for me...
I can not but resteem this post
My friend, I'm really pleased to read your words here. You are full of energy and positivity that's great. It's great that your words are finding willing ears and let me say to you it's just the beginning. Keep up your motivational series, people need that. I will definitely check out some of your posts :)
thank you a lot @modernpastor.
I really liked what you wrote I will take it as a tip, go to steemit because they recommended it to me and now I have fun creating and knowing about the other people in this community, I will take your post as a help that I hope will be very useful, thank you very much. ..
Thanks @modernpastor, nice post!
I've recently joined Steemit and I'm trying to post and connect with people every day in order to make a nice seed for my apple tree. : )
I'm writing about life and society philosophy, I'm looking forward to discuss those subjects with you if you find them interesting.
Cheers!
This great, this post will be a lending hand for all beginners.
Thanks for this praise :)
Your post is so good and standard. I am just upvote your post plz upvote my poste @hrishikesh
this is an interesting comparison, I agree with you that at the beginning of the journey we are fruits and that it would take time and condition to grow and all this can be achieved only by persistent work and persistence. You have to work constantly on what you do to them then you will see success, then people will follow you ... thank you, your advice is very valuable to me!
I'm happy that my post was valuable to you :)
Thanks for your comment.
Been off and on into steem. I don't know why I couldn't see the push. Thank you for the post @modernpastor. Will follow this.
Sometimes it takes longer to see the push. But I think when you keep on you will see it one day :)
I have to thank you for this comment.
good topic sharing and good writing skill.i like your post and following.
I love how you presented your explanation its like you're using comparative analysis.
That's true, consistency is the key to success.
And frequency is the key to familiarity.
Thank you for sharing this @modernpastor Resteemed!
Again what a great comment :)
Consistency is the key to success.
And frequency is the key to familiarity. I like that^^
I'm glad you liked it. Never to lose hope here in Steemit, just be consistent and good results will follow. :)
I really agree with you just a little bit confused. Three days back I joined steemit and I have been watching various YouTube tutorials on how to have more followers and gaining more on posts.
OK....I understand that having more financial rewards is not the main target but too it boost an individual to work more and more.
Some tutorials say that we should comment more since we have no followers, others we should post more to have more followers and others emphasise on the use of tags
So, I believe that you were once a beginner in this platform, how did you reach this level through your personal experience.@modernpastor
My friend thanks for this honest question.
I am giving my best to answer this questions.
Those youtubers who says that commenting, in the beginning, is more important are not wrong. Indeed when you comment a lot(valuable comments) you get also exposure and followers. Maybe even some good rewards.
The best case is of course, if you are doing both equally. There is nothing more powerful than that. But it takes a lot of effort to do.
By posting you will get followers who are interested in the topic you write about.
I was already familiar with blogging that's why I was posting more contributions than commenting.
You know what. I think I will make a Post about that question. :)
Wauhhh....thank you again and will appreciate it
This is exactly how to go here ...slow and steadily wins the race ... but don't give up till the last : )
Yeeeeeeeees ^^
Hi. I am a photographer and new here to steemit so I appreciate your post. I think this is a key topic for most people. You talk however about a sprint vs marathon but surely this has more to do with quality than set frequency. One should post as quickly as they can develop quality content. Just posting regularly but without quality content is not great for the author or for the platform. Thanks for starting the discussion on this.
Rob
Hey @intrepidhotos. First of all, let me welcome here into this great community ^^.
I hope you will get a great time here and find lovely connections and more.
You are right with that what you said. That's why I wrote that this post handles only the frequency. Frequency is just one part not everything. What you post is another huge question, but this was not the main focus in this contribution.
Many things have to come together like the way of the apple seed to an apple tree. :)
Awesome post!
I also think there is no rule on how much - As long as you stay authentical with your posts and try to give value to others, it is fine. For some people this might mean producing one long post per week (@bypaul's travel reports for example), for others it means posting an awesome picture per day.
This not only goes for steemit but alsp for life in general. If you keep being your true self while being helpful to others, you will receive a lot in return!
I am resteeming this, hopefully many newbies who come to my account via @welcoming will see this and read it!
Cheers ;)
Great comment my friend, great comment. I agree with you.
You made an important point. To stay authentical! Great one!
wow thats great news
@resteemed
I am actually having this question in my mind. I wanted to get traction, but unfortunately I still am unsure as to the topics I would write.
I am being pressured that people may not find any value to things I post.
Hopefully, by observing further, I'll be able to come up with something I would love to write about that others will like as well.
Thanks for your honest comment and sharing your concerns.
Let me give you the advice to write what you love. Write about your passion it doesn't matter how small it is, this makes your writing easier. And for sure there are people who interested in that same as you.
I am not saying that you will see directly a change, but in my opinion, its a good way to start.
Yeah, I also see others advise this. I guess steemit community is very diverse, and there will always be a group who shares the same interest (well, fingers crossed).
I'm a newbie here in Steemit. this post is indeed very helpful. thanks.
I glad to hear that :)
thanks @modernpastor for the very details post. And I must truly say, that I can see the differents. You know me as well from the beginning we are here on Steemit. And there was a time I did not post that much. But since 2 Weeks or more, I am posting every day serverel times.( it was even before the SBD rises ) And it pays out. But I had to find out my own daily rhythm. Before I dint find that, I was unable to post more times a day....You made a excellent post - Good that this platform have you here :-)
My friend, I am your witness. Because I saw your name out there. I also told you about that, did I?
Thanks for your lovely comment. It's really empowering for me.
i didnt know that you are my Witness :-) , happiness come to my lips :-) Thank you my friend :-) Let rise together on Steem
Wow! :) This is the most substantial post that I've read so far when I started Steemit. I am a beginner and I don't have background about blogging but this is very encouraging to me. I agree that in every success, there should be hardwork. Thank you for your posting @modernpastor. You got another follower. :)
First of all, let me welcome here into this great community :)
Thanks for your lovely comment. Even if you are not familiar with blogging, dont stress yourself. This will come with the time. Read a lot posts, from others, and observe their style :)
Very helpful post... coming from largely the YouTube world, I feel like I’ve had a million questions about how to social structure/general expectations have formed on here and this definitely helped. Reblogged. Thank you!
Hey, my friend :) thanks for this empowering comment.
In my beginning I had the same questions even now I have unanswered questions. We are still learning together. I am glad that this Post could help you a bit :)
This is definitely what I have needed as a beginner. So many people give you little hints of advice here and there, but no one really lays out the best way to run a steemit blog for the long-term. Thanks!
Thank you very much :)
It's tough sometimes to get the information we are looking for. We have all different perspective and strategies. But I am convinced that my way I shared is beneficial for the long-term and that's important. Have always the longn-term value in mind.
Thank you for the post as it made me realise I did it right! I am now coastng on Steemit inasmuchas I post regularly but less when personal circumstances don't allow the time required. I aim to be on Steemit long term and build up my power base, so that I can benefit others when I upvote as well as earning for myself. Those earnings will be a basis for the future. Happy Steeming, Seasons Greetings!
Thanks for your comment :)
You are on the right way :) Continue to move forward :)
In the end - what works best for you. But ideally try to stick to that schedule.
Also it depends on what you are looking to achieve. I believe everyone needs to experiment to find their rhythm.
True my friend :) True :)
Nice, long and well written post, I think you put a lot of effort into it. Loved the tree analogy and how you explained things. I'm curious how long did it take to write :)
Hey, my friend, it took some time to write it.
When I am writing longer posts, I have several drafts.
The first one I write quickly but then the true work begins. I leave the post during the day when I am having time with my familyy and in the evening I finish everything. Before I go to sleep I look again if I feel comfortable with that version :)
Thanks for sharing your writing strategy :)
time for a long sprint run first up :)
Wow, a great post :)
Thanks @emilyl :)
Thanks. This is helpful.
You're welcome. :)
This is an awesome post with great comparisons and metaphors!
Some nice tips which definitely can be useful for newbies.
Everyone has to find his own posting frequency.
Some post once a week and it's all right, others post twice a day and it's as good.
You have to be contented with the quality of your posts, then it doesn't matter how often you post.
My opinion :)
Well said my friend :)
Well said.
Thanks for sharing your opinion ^^
if you want my point of view on that is that one post per day is more than enough. If the posts are more than 3 each day it maybe considered spam (you got to think the others and the rewards pool) but in general even if you are to busy and make 3 posts per week that's alright too.
The key is to interact with others and spend time reading and commenting others post but i repeat reading and the comments you make better be useful not just ''good post'' ''keep it up''
I like your thinking, and I see that you are doing well also here, I like the fact that you are answering to almost all the comments here, usually people don't care about that is they earn good money, I always care and I answer all the comments now, and yes I think posting everyday is important and it's the best way to grow and don't make people forget about you, you can also check the best steemit tips that I gave to community and that was what I learned in 7 months on steemit, and I am still learning, thanks for such amazing work, upvoted. ☺
Wow! Thank you. This is very informative. I'll keep this in mind, and I better start thinking about what to write.
Hello @modernpastor, your article is nicely done with cute illustrations and useful for me and certainly for other beginners, too. That‘s why I resteemed it.
