I would say rest at regular intervals at the same time, for example every odd day of the week between 9 and 12 am. Whatever time is needed to recharge properly.

Yes @randowhale should take naps to recover its voting power. But the naps should be scheduled like 4 to 5 hours a day at specific time.

Even if you don't like restricting commentvoting I would consider again, because people are using randowhale to push their spam comments like "great post" or "thank you". This should not be in your best interest. Pls think about it again...
If you see people doing this, I would suggest flagging them. That is what they're there for.
Maybe do not vote for comments, only for main posts?
It's hard for us little guys to counteract a @randowhale vote slammed down on a comment. But I have seen it more and more the last few weeks.
I say power all the way up and decrease the percent range by half (~1-2.5%). This should give roughly the same payout and will give you twice as many daily votes so you don't drain as fast. When you get to 75~80% you can rest for a day and start over.
Your average vote weight now is 3.5% so you can vote ~571 times a day without losing any voting power. If this average weight is dropped to 1.75% you can vote ~1143 times a day without losing any voting power. That would allow you to vote once every 1.26 minutes. And that would be just for randowhale. If you include randowhale1, etc you might never have to rest. Or you could combine the accounts and greatly reduce the voting weight into fractions of a percent.
This is assuming I am thinking about this correctly and my math was right.

Yes, take a nap periodically at the same hours so everybody knows your schedule. Two hours nap after 6 hours of hard work should be a good balance. Everybody would try to use it just after the nap, and many would wait a little more time at the end of each period to get a vote with more strength. In this way, I think your nap will be more effective.
With this scheme you could balance your schedule automatically in the long run, depending how quick your voting power is draining or recovering....

It would be good to see you take naps but even during this period you're able to accept transfers, and simply upvote when you're back online - is this an option?

You should definitely take naps. I would also suggest to take regular breaks, at the same time, if possible, so you won't drain your powers. - @randowhale is very important for people, myself included. I've been paying 1 sbd for an average of $1,50 and meanwhile that doesn't sound like much for some people, it makes a huge difference for me in the long run. I'd hate to see my 1 sbd investment make me less than that.
Let's break it down to you in more details:
I post daily. And I post an average of 2 posts per 24 hour.
That $1 per day I profit equates to $360 per year, and meanwhile some more established (or more lucky) Steemians earn that on an daily basis from each post they make, $360 extra per year is a huge deal for me. - Thank you for your service!
Why not limit the amount of SBD that can be sent per account per day? @minnowbooster does this and it seems like they are able to keep their VP relatively high as a result.

Option 3: Put a limit per person and disable comment upvotes.
This is not an option. I do not agree with limiting how the community decides to use @randowhale. Comments should be rewarded more than they are as they are what drives engagement on this site. Consider that...
The reason your votepower gets drained so fast is due to people abusing it. And upvoting their own comments is usually the easiest way to do this. Besides that, limiting the amount of uses per person would be a good option to stop the abuse + drain of VP. Anyways, it's your choice, I am just saying that these naps aren't solving anything...
If you have some stats on this, I would love to see them.
Can I know why @randowhale doesn't answer questions concerning those who send SBD and never saw the upvotes?
Have you ever looked at how many replies @randowhale receives? I do not have the time to read through every single comment and I have made multiple posts that if you need support you need to visit steemit.chat.
Also, 99.99% of the time, those who have reported issues were actually not issues and they a) requested a vote when the post was not able to receive a vote, or b) got a vote from @randowhale1 and didn't bother to look.
Other than these 2 issues above, there are very few cases where @randowhale did not vote and should have.
I will appreciate if you look because I did another one today and I haven't seen change. and 2 others where I never saw the change. Before I do, I chack first and 1 time I did when it was 11 hours left and I didn't checked and I never receive a refund. I do not receive SBD much to forget what's going on with my account. I will appreciate if you look into this matter and refund me what didn't received an upvote from your system.
