RE: How long is one considered new on Steemit?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Until your upvote worth something reasonable, you'll still be considered new. That aside, the new guys will be the sustainers of the system in time to come. So if you don't encourage them now to continue and also bring in some more new guys, you may be running the system aground. Everyone comes in here to add value to the system, but you won't know the value the new guys are bringing into the system if you don't give them a chance to be heard. Guys like you that have rep above 50 are believed to have found their way here that is why most contests exclude them. look at this your post for instance, you're already having over 13sbd from it. If I'm the one that made this same post, i would hardly get up to 0.05sbd from it. Why? Because I'm not yet known. So the new guys need every kind of encouragement they can get to keep them hopeful

I’d actually disagree. One could dump 500k into their account on the first day making them worth a lot but they would still be new to the platform. Cheers!

Those with high sp progress at a faster pace in steemit than those with low sp. from my observation from the little time i have spent here, a person's worth is his voting power not the time he/she had spent here.so, someone dumping 500k into the system is no more a newbie in my opinion

When I was initially replying to your comment the first time it was being done on my phone and only showed me the first two lines of your comment. I would have given a better reply and not started my response with stating I disagree. My apologies.
