RE: 1000 Posts in 1 week? Start engaging with others!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Your last remark is spot-on.
Anyone can collect 1000 posts in a week, it's just a copy/paste or bot effort.

But to really read the post, and comment on it, that takes time. Just like creating a post from scratch, you need to put the effort in to think about is, write it down properly and also check punctuation and style.

I'm curious if you checked the 1000-poster's comments if they are really relevant comments or just comments to collect the curation rewards.
I would believe the latter to be the case.

Actually, this post is a good example. You have 55 votes, but only 7 views. People will upvote without even knowing what they're upvoting for...

@rmz thanks for your comment. :)

Maybe you overlooked it. In my post, I mention that it takes a lot of effort for making valuable comments and not only a comment for the sake of commenting. As I took, for example, @stellabelle or @asperger-kids you can check their effort out for yourself.

I don't agree with you that people are only upvoting without even knowing what they are upvoting. For sure some people are doing it that way but I think it's a huge mistake to generalize it.

Also, i would like to add that sometimes we just need to recognize that other people are doing certain things better than we and accept their success :)

I did not overlook that, that's why I started with

Your last remark is spot-on

With that I meant your comment

But don't put comments just for the sake that your number in the middle increase. No, make your thoughts and write a meaningful comment for the author and other readers. This is a lot of work.

I don't know why you wouldn't agree that a lot of people are upvoting without reading. The figures show it, if you have more upvotes than views there is no way these upvoters can know what is in the post.
For this post it is already over 5 times the upvotes compared to views, but I've seen instances where 10 to 20 times more upvotes are common.

The upvote-bots people can subscribe to have a lot to do with this.

And I do not agree that other people are doing it better, they're doing it differently, with another attitude.
I'm less interested in just making a quick buck than building a connection with people I respond to.

I have to apologize. I was the one who overlooked it.

Yes, you are totally right with that some people are doing it that way. Upvoting without reading. But in the case that there some views I think you cant generalize it. For me it a question of formulation. :)

Exactly, they are doing it differently with another attitude but maybe for the same goal.
And it could be that their different way of doing something here is better, or let me say more effective as your or my way :) And as I saw from your profile it's your goal to make Steemit your primary source of income.

In the last point, I agree with you. That is what I wanted to describe that engaging with others is in my eyes so essential and that they are other Steemians we can learn a lot from.
