RE: Steemit features wishlist: Ways to save posts and upvote old posts on Steemit?

in #steemit8 years ago

Hi sizzlingmonkeys!

Nice to see you getting into the posting habit!

To be honest I agree with your wishes and personally there are several more features I would love to see implemented on Steemit. Steemit is a fantastic platform and I have never been this excited about any other online platform/software/service, but there are some major issues I think needs to be addressed.

But we are still in beta mode

So hopefully many more features will be implemented in the future.

Some of the things I would like to add to that public wishlist you requested:

Less power to the whales in terms of curation dominance. It is very difficult for newbies to break through the clutter and land on the hot/trending lists. Mosts of the content found here is by the users with a large following most of them having been here for a while.

The whales also have too much downvoting power. If a whale for some reason dislikes you (it could be because of unfair reasons like religion, skin color etc.) he will be able to downvote you forever, in effect excluding you from the system. This mechanism has to be more fair.

I would also love to see a draft option in Steemit.

Thank you for opining the debate and talk to you later!

Thanks for the reminder that Steemit is still in beta mode. Yes, I agree it is not easy for newbies and non-whales to break through. I did see some influential authors who are non-whales and their posts did very well. Like you mentioned, they've been on Steemit for a while, so maybe it takes time to build a following?

Yes, it is a huge advantage to be an early adopter to systems like this. In that regard new users today are in fact still early adopters. Steemit is probably still in its infancy so we are hopefully about to see many more people opening up Steemit accounts over the course of time.
