Is there a way to see who downvoted or flagged your post?

I was just curious if there is a way to see who downvoted or flagged your post and if so how?

look in your votelist (+ up/- down) or use https://steemd.com/@rulesforrebels for details (for example you can see with how much percent someone voted your post or comment).

Thanks it's this guy @n1kofi oddly enough he had resteemed me in the past.

Wasn't me I promise!

we know. blockchain is watching you.

Yeah like they said it was @n1kofi The good thing is that his reputation is lower than yours so it didn't damage your reputation.

On the Instagram post I can kind of see why maybe someone would flag it even though you declared a source. One the drone one I'm not really sure. Usually bigger Whale accounts won't flag for that. they just won't upvote it and other people won't as well.

Sometimes it is tough and I have featured other content before and added my own spin or had my own content mixed in and then giving props to guys who jump off huge cliffs and stuff like that.

But I try to keep my blog like 95% or more my own content.

You can start a flagging war with him! If will kind of be a virtual version of that lawn mower shoot out you posted! lol

before you start a war, it's strongly recommended to talk with each other, here or in steemit.chat.

One crack baby flagged me about 3 months ago and I asked him why he didn't and he wouldn't respond. I ended up just letting it go even though I had a higher reputation and could have smashed him.

Sometimes it isn't even worth your time but sometimes revenge is a dish best served cold!

you nailed it.

You actually bring up a good point. IMHO if someone is gonna flag someone I'd personally like to see them drop a comment and explain why, doens't have to be a novel just something like hey common man low quality gotta flag ya. I'd respect that a lot more than just drive by flagging plus it helps the person who gets flagged understand why and allows the community to maybe step in if they don't agree with it. For example say I write a post about why Trumps immigration ban is good and someone flags me just because they disagree with the politics behind it as opposed to the quality of the actual post. Just an example but you get the point.

So I upvoted those two post that got flagged to show you that I over powered that guy who flagged you just as a learning experience. Now your post are lit back up because I have more power than him.

Yeah he should have explained himself for sure. The whole flagging situation got out of control for awhile last year. Some of the whales started flagging post that they felt were getting too high of a payout. There were "whale wars". It got nasty.

The thing that I do when I don't agree with a post is I don't flag them but explain in the comments why I don't agree with their position.

Myself and most others on this platform look at the flag as a way to mitigate abuse and plagiarism. It isn't like the thumbs down on YouTube although that is mainly what I use that for on YouTube.

I usually either upvote people's stuff or don't vote. If they click bated me into some bullshit I might thumbs down but that is rare. I usually just bounce.

Hey Brian,

Sorry to reply to such an old post this far out, but I wanted to tell you about something that I think could be an issue for a lot of newbies like myself. I started using steemwhales.com/clean-trending to downvote obvious trending trash that was being bot-upvoted.. Today one of those people totally wiped out one of my threads and I am sure they hit my rep score too.

I want people to now there is a penalty for trying to clean up bots in "trending." I didn't reply to him (and I was surprised he even let me know who he was by bitching at me that way,) restored my own post, and everything is cool.

Sure would like my reputation points restored though...

Here's what he wrote, which I thought was pretty unfair given my downvote was legit, and his was pure revenge (and false about me C&Ping others work, which I never do without proper attribution):

RE: A former iconic American car brand...FORD MOTOR COMPANY...cutting a slew of models...THANKS FREE TRAITORS!

You flag other peoples good work and your self copy paste stuff shame on you loser!

Fighting the abusers is going to be a rough road and I'm surprised I haven't been attacked by @haejin yet even though I have never flagged him since he is too powerful for me to take on.

Hey buddy thanks appreciate it. I wonder if Steemit will come out with an upvote vs downvote. I think a downvote is fair game you don't enjoy something downvote it but yeah a flag I think like you said should be reserved for straight spam or plagarism or something really bad.

Something I've been wondering lately is if I should stay in my lane and keep doing the same type of stuff on Youtube or whether I should branch out and make other types of content.

I got a post/video I'm working on right now that's sorta about you, I think you'll find it pretty funny so stay tuned

Hey yeah I'll totally admit both those posts weren't my best content and if you look over my stuff not only is the vast majority of my stuff my own content but much of my stuff is IMHO well thought out long form content.

I was kind of doing an experiment. Today I noticed some people doing nothing more than reposting internet porn pictures and videos and making $15 and $20 per post. I see some people posting pictures of hot girls, not even hot girls themselves pictures of other hot girls taken off the internet and doing well.

I guess I'm kind of trying to wrap my head around what does well here so thought okay I'm gonna switch things up and try a hot girl post and also try reposting just an interesting article and see how well those things perform next to my origional content.

Well I guess I got my answer they get flagged lol but I've been examining the idea of creating content vs curating content and trying to figure out what types of content people are looking for and was really just running a little experiment.

One comment it seems kind of wierd to me that one persons flag can hide a post. On sites like Craigslist for example it takes a couple flags to remove something, not just one persons opinion.

Appreciate the explaination.

Yeah it is hard to wrap your head around what content gets good payouts. Steemit is a weird place in a lot of ways but look at something like YouTube. I practically had several depression episodes on YouTube that would get a couple thousand views and then I would see someone put a video up of their dog chewing a sock and it would get hundreds of thousands of views. I used to really beat myself up over it. It was very frustrating.

The reason it is hiding it is because of the guys Steem Power. He had more power and it took the post basically to $0 so it hid it. I will upvote one of the posts and you will see it light back up.

I get what you are saying about testing for sure. Sometimes what gets a good payout doesn't make any sense. It can be very frustrating for sure. The thing we have to do is build up as much Steem Power as fast as possible so that it doesn't matter anymore because we can always pay ourselves. Right now with the trail of bots that hit my account I get paid $10 automatically. It is a good feeling. I know the feeling of not knowing if you are even going to make $0.50 for a post. It really sucks. Now that we can get actual voting power in the system the holly grail will be to get to where you could pay yourself beyond your minimum thresh hold you feel is worth it. Let's say if that is $10 or $20 or whatever. I'm just going to keep going crazy until I'm paying myself $1000 / post like it isn't anything! Hahahah, Price of Steem would have to MOON but that is very possible. We have to get it right now while it is hot!!!

And I can tell you this man. No matter if the price goes down a lot or things don't seem great on here. ...... I'm telling you this. Steemit will survive. What we went through in the last year on here was hell. It made the Adpocolypse look like a day at the beach. After I saw it survive from that and all the fighting that was going on I'm confident that it will survive 100%.

Something I'm starting to kind of realize is that Steemit isn't Youtube. That's not to say it's a good thing or a bad thing, it's just what it is.

I agree Youtube is wierd in what gets big and what doesn't but I think at the end of the day good content will get shared, will get upvoted, will get interacted with and will rise to the top. On Steemit I feel like a lot of great content gets lost in the shuffle and while I'm not super powerful on here something I want to do more of is resteeming and trying to get good content that attention.

I think Steemit is more about the interaction and building up a community more so than its about creating content, at least for now.

I dont remember who I was chatting with on Steemit but someone had said they stopped creating content and are spending all their time on commenting. WHile I'm not going to go to that extreme I think they're onto something.

In terms of accumulating Steem, I see its pretty cheap right now. Say I wanted to load up adn drop like 2 btc into steem, would that have a significant affect on my account or not really?

I did the math and if the Situation with ChainBB can continue with the small upvote on comment. Even if it is only $0.07 from @jesta I thought in my head. You can comment every 20 seconds. So let's just be conservative and say that you could comment every 30 seconds. That would be 120 comments / hour at $0.07 let's just say even though it is usually more. So that is $8.4 / hour and let's say a person just goes animal all day for like 12 hours. Well that is $100.80 / day worth of Steem Power. That is actually pretty amazing. A person would probably get carpal tunnel but still. People get that at their jobs. LOL. So what I'm trying to do is do a combination of comments, bot driven activity and my posts to really amp it up. Plus my plan with my bot arms is not only will I be getting the upvotes from Jesta and a couple other auto votes then I pile my bot army on and it looks like I said something super insightful when there are 20 upvotes. Hahahah That could suck in some more votes. But I don't know...... I will have to get this figured out more.

If you power up 2 BTC worth I feel like your upvote will be worth a solid $3 or $4. At that point just on the posts you have been doing you will be able to pump up your earnings quite a bit. Plus earning some interest on the Steem Power. But even with power depleted if you vote was worth $1 each time you could really create a better base earnings each day.

Plus another thing is that I have noticed that the more Steem Power someone has the more people gravitate to them. I think their are many reasons for this but I feel like a lot of people try to suck up to the person to try to get their upvote when they are more powerful. I feel like if I had 20,000 Steem Power I would have well over 2000 followers. So suddenly your following could increase and more people will be commenting and checking in on your stuff the more power you have. People notice real quick and to be honest when you swim in and give a dolphin a solid upvote real quick they will notice that your vote is worth something and check out your wallet. Trust me..... All the time after I post if I see the earnings jump I looked at who voted and then if I don't know them I will click on their account and check out their wallet to see how much steem power they have and then go to Steemd to see what percentage they upvoted me with .

You'll do much better with original content or if you provide your own commentary/opinion on a curated post. After a while, these Copy & Paste posters enter spam territory and end up a permanent @cheetah snack.

If you haven't done so already you will want to add a mention to your steemit profile in your YouTube channel. It helps prevent questions on whether or not it is your content.

Fortunately or unfortunately since you have a following you are more likely to be reported for copy/paste posts and other abuse. That's how I found you. One of your posts was reported as copy/paste and I stopped by to comment on it. :)

One comment it seems kind of wierd to me that one persons flag can hide a post.

You and @n1kofi probably have pretty close voting weight at 100% but his is probably just a bit higher since his vote hid your post. Whether a post is hidden when it is flagged is going to depend on the Reputation & SP of those flagging you.

Hey @patrice thanks for the tips. yeah majority of what i create is not only origional content but long form origional content. i decided to mix it up the other day and see if this posting pics of hot girls stuff actually works, more an experiment than anything else, apparently it doesn't go over well lol but i see some other accounts making money doing nothing more than reposting internet porn.

great point about the adding something to youtube. The other day I was called out by steamcleaners for posting content that was up on the net, but the thing is it was my own content.

I had posted some photos from jamaica and they linked to the same photos on citydata and a blogspot blog, the thing is it was my content on some old profiles i had, just not under the "rulesforrebels" username, the name. i wound up having to find the logins for those old accounts, login and show screenshots that were showing i obviously had access to those accounts and that was my content.

Don’t let it get to you. Just imagine what this place will be like with a million users! xD

btw- someday I’ll screenshot my unfiltered YT comments!

Your can use this https://www.steemnow.com/ to check all your Steemit activities

I know who it wasn't!!! You have a lot of fans and fan like followers. Who did that?

Hey buddy, I kinda get it, I mean it wasn't my best quality post but at the same time I see people reposting porn pics and making $20 so was really kind of doing a little experiment trying something different.

Personally speaking if there was an upvote and downvote option and someoen wants to downvote something fine but with it being a "flag" feature, I think it should be used pretty sparingly. And also personally I think it's kinda lame to cut and run, drop a comment and explain why.

Despite my first reaction obviously being this motherf**@ker I'm gonna flag him back...lol... I didn't I'm not looking to get into a flagging war and after checking out his content it's all decent stuff so I can justify flagging something that I think is good.

That said it did annoy me a little but I do see where he's comming from

Maybe you used a sexy pic of his girlfriend or daughter lol

How do people down vote? I can only see the upvote button

there is a small flag right beside your comment and the same flag at the top of each post.

Hey mitchy, technically speaking there's no downvote button there's a flag button. IMHO this should be used pretty sparingly for only the lowest quality stuff, spam, etc.

I was doing an experiment playing around with some different types of posts. I did one post, a little photo essay about the sexiest woman on Instagram, honestly not my best piece of content but like I said I'm experimenting with some stuff to see what people are looking for and honestly it's the same type of stuff I see other similar posts making $50 for yet someone downvoted me on that as well as another post.

I'll totally admit not my best two pieces of content but imho hardly downvote worthy. If you follow @pawos advice you can sort through basically the entire history of your upvotes and downvotes and see who upvoted you and who downvoted you as well as a lot of other activity on your account

The guy who downvoted me has actually resteemed me in the past so I can't say someone is out to get me, but still personally something has to be pretty terrible for me to flag it, I personally don't agree with the downvote.

yeah me too I never like to dis like on YouTube

Very informative, but damn I am new here and someone just went on a flagging frenzy and downvoted all my material so now it is hidden! Is there anything I can I do about this?
