RE: MINNOW RISING: If You Are A Minnow And Can't Get Upvotes, Learn From A Rising Minnow Star: @sirwinchester

Thanks for sharing this. I'm new to this platform and am struggling with how to really dive in and get started. I feel like there are so many things I want to put out there. And then it can be like "...wait, what will people think of that tho?" .. "should I be trying to put out some sort of fine-tuned image?"

The money rewards is such a blessing, and such a righteous move from it all being advertising that goes to the centralized websites.. But also a distraction in that it can take you out of your "zone" so to speak if you start thinking about that.

I think it's just a learning curve, getting used to this new way of social media.

What I take from your post.... Is that a maximum of creativity and a maximum of expression is really the best way to use this platform anyways. That there's no "strategy" besides that.. be polite, be genuine.. be NORMAL in how you interact with the other Steemers

Thank you. This is helpful.

The only strategy is to see where you can offer value and present your expression of it. Show yourself as someone that offers value to the community, practice in the comments sections.

If you've found value in the content that someone else has worked hard to present and you can genuinely express that... Thats worth much more to them than your upvote, you'll be remembered for it.

Focus on your process, improving your writing, contributing to others, not the outcomes. It's all about the journey, offering value and lifting people up.

This is one of the few places in social media where genuine expression is more important than social validation.

I like that. Thanks. I feel so inspired right now, lol.

so true.

Agree with every word there!

The more you become yourself and really start enjoying yourself, the more others will enjoy you too. If you are looking for inspiration, then look at this. @roelandp is my main inspiration here:

I think people are not used to the idea that being themselves is a good thing. Steemit rewards creativity, helpfulness and intelligence. It does not reward half-assed attempt. Going for it, being a nice person will get you a long ways in here. It's like social media 3.0....the future, baby, the future! Or, you can just be your weird self like @klye or @fyrstikken! WEIRD IS GOOD!

Ya! THATS AWESOME!! It really rewards genuine interaction, whereas like YouTube can be more about clickbaiting and creating drama and tactics like that .. on here that would get sniffed out cause when you have steempower you don't want to reward people who are being jerks and doing that weird stuff, and it's all about just giving real content.
