I know a lot of people would like to see an alternative to Youtube. It's not an easy thing to run a video service, but Steem may provide a business opportunity for someone to do it. They can take a percentage of what videos make here to cover their costs.

That's what I'm thinking. YouTube already doesn't work with the traditional model -- it's never been profitable. It's real value is as a search engine. A different monetization scheme is needed. I can't say for sure if the Steemit-style blockchain could work, but it would definitely be cheaper than centralized YouTube.

It may work with one of the decentralised storage systems with those providing storage space getting paid. Lots of interesting possibilities

Quite. I'm curious to see what smart people devise.

We will soon see some big names coming onto Steemit

Like who? for example

You see twitch and youtube live steam more and more, I think internet get's more visual content. A blockchain based video platform with rewards like here on Steemit would be great!

Well, in the Stefan interview, he mentions "blockchain" options, and I'm sure Cullen would be very open. David Seaman has mentioned steemit increasingly. Mike Cernovich has talked about a blockchain monetized Twitter option.

Those names alone would really set the mood here. But anyone who has been affected by YouTube or Twitter censorship would probably be very receptive to Steemit.

Okay :-) Nice!
Thanks for that @shayne

I love your passion for steemit. Its really contagious and encouraging. Keep up the the good work.
I'm ready to start my first bitcoin wallet and transfer some Steem dollar into it this week so I can have a play around on the cryptomarkets because of your earlier video post. So thanks. You made it look easy.

Thanks!

If you have any questions, just ask and I'll try to answer.

Well done sir!

Also, hit me up on steemit.chat when you can.

Will do. Good night :D

I was having trouble finding you over there... maybe I just don't know how to use it?

I joined today, and Im liking what I see.I think we need Steem to encourage content creators andviewers without the chocking red tape like google youtube. Case closed...-MM-
