RE: Let's Bring People To 500 SP! | Community Effort At Its Best!

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Again, I think this is a great idea. But also I think this is a little confusing. I was glad @phoenixwren already commented that he had been able to power up, because I wasn't sure whether I should send him the Steem I promised to donate or not... Apparently, I didn't. Or do I need to send it to @erodedthoughts?

I'm confused... how will I know how and when to donate and when not to?

Sorry for not letting you know earlier @simplymike. My bad.

I was just super-satisfied with the progress, so I decided to push another user immediately. If phoenix wouldn't have been able to get pushed to 500 this time, I would've donated the necessary steem myself.

As we, (you, me and erodedthoughts) will be donating 3 steem per week, we will also push 1 user per week. I'll send you a message on Discord shortly, and fill in the details :)

Ok, thanks

I've sent you a message on Discord. :)

NEVER SEND ME MONEY

I am really happy for all three of the minnows produced so far. They are all people I know and respect.
Looks like a good indication of the potential for a project like this.
Will be interested in seeing what a more structured version looks like.Don't worry same happened to me. I only knew about it because I was talking to @phoenixwren and decided to take a peek and see how close he was. By then it was a done deal.

We are kind of riding the wave of community support trying a few little trial accounts. @hitmeasap, @simplymike and I have pledged 3 Steem each per WEEK to get a user over the hump. This week we have submitted 3 users to the community and a select wonderful group has stepped up and we have three new minnows.

This is in the trial and error stages; we are looking for community engagement in selecting new users to push ahead as well as pointing out wonderful users who are remarkably close as well as active within the community.

I don't think any of us involved want this to feel like a burden to anyone involved. That said help where you can, don't put yourself out, if you can't support every user submitted that is understandable. Our goal is 1 new minnow weekly but we will test community limits when we find users as close to 500 as @insideoutlet and @phoenixwren were, as it allows even the smallest accounts to throw in 0.10 Steem towards a community goal of a new minnow.

This is supposed to be a fun and exciting hunt for new minnows to make, as well as an easy way for any and all accounts to be involved in the process of making minnows. We are hammering out some requirements of how to select accounts and looking a little more at history and some other things.

I want to end this saying that this is one of the better projects I was lucky enough to find and be a part of. Everyone involved should be fucking ecstatic that we made three minnows in three days as a community, a real true selfless community without any form of return expected. This is how a real community works, selfless giving for the health of the whole group.

I can honestly say, I am proud of each and every one of you and the amazing things we have pulled together to do so quickly. Let's keep hunting and force feeding these minnows.
