RE: Curation myths, minnows, and implications, post017

Good point, I exaggerated.

I'm looking at number of followers. Of the 17 posts I've made, I used upvote services on a handful, several of which made both Hot and Trending. These posts garnered a huge number of followers. The past 2-3 weeks I've gained 10 and lost 6 followers.

It is slow going. At this time, I think I pick up more followers from commenting on posts than my own posts. :)

To a certain extent joining Steemit now (since April) is like being part of the second wave of European immigrants to the US. You're late to the game, everyone already here knows each other, there's some weird civil war going on that looks like bad news, but impossible to avoid.

For what it’s worth, I think that having followers is much overrated. Nominally, I have almost 2,000 of them. But only maybe a few dozen folks who read and/or vote on my blog on a semi-regular basis.

You're late to the game

Gotta disagree with this too. You’re an early adopter. You know something about what the word blockchain means and you know it now when most people have no clue. When a hundred million people are using the Steem blockchain, you’ll be one of The Old Ones.

Yes, Steemit is still in beta testing, but there is a core of well established people. In fact, there is about two dozen people that I keep encountering. I'm hopeful that over time I'm going to become integrated into this society.
