If you are unfamiliar with @steemadvice, you can find more information about the project here.
We are hoping for the Steemit community's assistance in crowdsourcing the funds for a bounty. All that is needed from you is your upvote in order to help with this, but we encourage you to read on and decide whether or not you are behind what we are doing here before offering that upvote to us.
The goal of this project is to offer personal advice and support to those in need of assistance, both on and off of the Steemit platform. We also guarantee that all liquid capital gained through the posting of responses to requests for advice, will be donated to users promoting self-help or similar types of content on this site. Which authors get rewarded will be voted upon by the community. Although the initiative has just launched and as such, we have only received a few requests for advice, we are hopeful that once more people learn about what is on offer here, we will be able to help a lot more people. We may also attract a number of new users to Steemit through our website.
We feel we are in an excellent position to offer advice to others, and you can decide for yourself by checking out our previous posts where we have provided support to others. What we do not possess however, is the technical ability to create a website worthy of association with this this great platform.
What we are looking for
We have made the effort of developing a site through means of a template, however, the options are limited and the aesthetic value of the website leaves much to be desired. We are fully aware that there are a lot of great developers on Steemit, and we are calling for one or more of you to develop us a simple, attractive, user friendly site that we can replace our current design with.
All text, images, and video from the site can be kept as they are, so all we are looking for is essentially a replica of the same site with better colours and text readability. You must be able to provide a .zip, .tar or .tar.gz archive of all the website files so that we can update the site from our end.
Bounty
For the best design presented to us, and the one which we will go on to use, we are offering two things. Firstly, you will receive 100% liquid STEEM and SBD that is generated from this post, and the post in which we reveal the winner and present the new site to the community. Secondly, you will have our eternal gratitude. This will be demonstrated through means of a "Thank you to @yourusernamehere for developing our website" that will be added to the signature of every post this project makes in future. This will serve as great promotion for your account, especially once this project takes off.
sounds interesting, any help is cool for the entire platform, upvoting and resteeming this! @steemadvice
That's great of you. As we have yet to establish much of a following, it is crucial that this post gets plenty of resteems to increase visibility. Thank you, @uwelang.
my pleasure, happy to help further
I might be able to help you out.
I'm a professional web developer.
Check out http://www.writercoderdreamer.com - this is my site that I put up at the end of last year.
I even have a live blog feed from Steemit on there ;-)
While I am not available until probably mid February due to an overload of work, I'm happy to help out as best I can.
The website at the link you shared is much more pleasing to the eye. It is simple, yet elegant.
Your offer is greatly appreciated, and if the issue is not resolved by mid-February, then we would gladly take you up on it.
Also, this live blog feed sounds like it would be a wonderful addition to the site. Could that also be tweaked to show only posts from one particular tag? I'm thinking that it would be great to have a feed of steemadvice posts on the site so that others can read previous advice given before deciding on whether they would like to ask a question.
Thanks for that :-)
I'm not sure about getting a feed using tags. I'm using the SteemJS api so I'm tied to the functionality it serves up.
But it is something worth looking at. for me the best thing was being able to filter out resteems so on my site it only shows my posts.
This template was something I got free off the web, there are thousands of them to chose from.
If you want some guidance on what would work well, troll around the interweb and find some that you like and then email me the links at: [email protected] and I can give you some feedback and pointers etc on the various designs.
