This is useful info. I didn't know what metric separated minnows from dolphins from whales or understand the vests number or when I would have the choice of voting a percentage. Thanks! I keep adding to my understanding of Steemit, a tiny piece at a time.
This post makes a lot of sense. When I get to the point of having a choice, though, I might choose to give a percentage to shorter comments that I want to upvote and a full amount to blogs and longer comments.
I don't understand vests at all. I've no idea how it's accumulated or tracked, but I'm of the same mind as you. Vote 100% on posts and use the slider (if you've got it) on comments. Though most of the time I just upvote fully on comments that I really, really like.
My votes have counted for so little up to now that I haven't worried about it. I know when I'm voting on a post by an author I like that I'm probably missing several more by that same person, because there's only so much time and I don't do any automatic voting. My learning curve on the technical side of it has been so steep that I'm just now starting to pay attention to metrics.
