Yes - wholeheartedly agree - read, then read more, then comment :) Sometimes I have a 'feeling' the multitude only skim and scan - write a generic comment, unrelated to anything posted :) On the plus side, steemit is teaching me non-attachmnet in a different way I could've imagined ((om))

One of the big points about Steemit is you will get less than ROI by putting ONLY financial assets in and self voting. So reading is a core requirement to be successful.
Sure you don't get paid to read on Steemit (although you can earn from curating), but reading and commenting thoughtfully is the only sure way to build a following that reads your posts.
