Pretty much, yes. :D So keep asking Shapeshift. But more importantly: Start and keep using Steem! We do need some actual revenue to keep offering alternative cryptocurrencies. ;)

I had no idea! I was gona make a steemit debit card mockup and I aleady have a bitpay card and yeah with blocktrades or poloiex or bittreex or shapeshift and convert to bitcoin
but eventually we will need our own steemit debit card! Is this it? Can it have the steemit log on it?
Cant anyone get prepaid debit cads and load mony on them? Whats stopping us from makinga steemit debit card

Awesome and Welcome. I am going to sign up to Bitwala later today, I have some plans for the STEEM DOLLARS I have earned blogging. I traded my Steem Dollars for STEEM (rather than convert which takes a week, weird) on the STEEMIT Market and immediately have powered up to Steem Power. But with these last Steem Dollars that I received, I am going to do something Different, and @teambitwala and Bitwala will be helping accomplish that. Thank you.

Great news! Although not everyone will want to spend their Steem , it is important to have as many gateways to other services as possible! Will their be any plans for Steem Dollar support ?
First we need to see how Steem is accepted. If people use our service with Steem, Steem dollars will follow for sure.
Steemdollars would be great! It is so far the only stable crypto-asset that also has wide-range support.

Can a person from any country open an account and get the debit card? Or I have to be a citizen of a specific country? Also what sort of KYC verifications are required?
Pretty much, yes. We can't ship the debit cards to US-american addresses, but everything else should be fine. We don't care about your citizenship though. Regarding KYC (know your customer), it depends on your verification level. For sending any amount up to 500 Euro, all you need to provide is a name and an email-address. For the credit card, we need your address, obviously, and that has to be backed by certain documents.
