@tipU Investors Report 08.05.2018: New Features Overview, New Delegations

in #steemit7 years ago

Hi guys, it's been a while since last investors report so let's see what has been added lately :)

Auto Reinvest

This was already mentioned in last report but I think it's worth to bring it up again - you can now automatically reinvest custom part of your profit. Let's see an example:

Investor (or sp delegator) daily profit: 1 SBD
Reinvest ratio set to: 20%
So the investor will receive 0.8 SBD and 0.2 SBD will be auto-reinvested.
Currently 1 SBD is worth 0.81 STEEM so 0.2 SBD will be converted to 0.162 STEEM POWER.

This 0.162 SP will be automatically added to investor's... investment, so it's like additional 0.162 STEEM POWER was delegated by the investor.

By default reinvest ratio is set to 0% (disabled) but you can set it anywhere between 0% and 100% by sending 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo: reinvest X
where X is % of reinvest ratio. For example: reinvest 20

Reinvest functionality announcement post - click.

Auto Refunding

OK, so what to do if you want to receive back your auto-reinvested profit? Or refund your whole investment? In that case, just send 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo: refund

Within a minute @tipU will send back all SBD and STEEM that was invested and reinvested by the investor/delegator. You can try it out any time you want, there's of course no penalty for that - just be sure to invest again shortly after :)

Note: to invest, send at least 0.01 SBD or 0.01 STEEM to @tipU with memo: invest

Please note that it will not cancel your delegation. To cancel delegation, you need to delegate 0 SP - this is how steem blockchain works :)

Payout On Demand

Normally @tipU makes payouts every 24 hours for each investor. If you don't want to wait just send 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo: payout

@tipU will immediately send you any pending SBD payout (if it's more than 0.001 SBD) and, if your investment/delegation is at least 7 days old, STEEM coming from curation rewards.

To receive curation rewards payouts the investment/delegation must be at least 7 days old, because post payouts, including curation, are paid 7 days after the post was created and upvoted by @tipu.

This will ignore reinvest functionality as I figured out, if you want to receive the payment now, you want whole of it:)

Delegations Link

This one is neat and it's helpful not only for @tipU delegators. There is no option to make delegation from steemit wallet so users have to make special links manually or use custom tools, like steembottracker delegation tool or steemdesk.com.

To make it easier, @tipU can now create delegation links on the fly by responding to a comment.

Let's say you want to delegate 100 SP to @d.tube - in this case just write a comment under any post you like:

I want to delegate 100 SP to @d.tube

And within a minute @tipU will respond with a working delegation link, using secure steemconnect :)

New Delegations

Just today @tipU received new delegations which almost doubled it's STEEM POWER - over 190k SP currently :) It's still far less then the big guys like @booster or @postpromoter - but those can't reinvest, pay on demand etc. so we're getting there :)

Profitability

And finally few words about profitability.

@cutemachine sent me today a link to https://www.steemdesk.com - a very neat website with awesome, unique feature - display APR (annual percentage return - from investment) for the delegations.

To use it you need to first enter steem user name and then you can check APR from his investments. To compare to other services I'm using user @znnuksfe because he delegated nice, round amounts of SP to 3 services, including @tipU. Check out the results:
1.png

Looks good to me! Just bare in mind that there can be small fluctuation because some services would not send today's payout just yet, although it takes 15 days into account so you can see the trend. I will be happy to return to this comparison in next report.

If you know other users who delegated SP to few different bots/services, let me know, I'm very curious to see the results :)

That wraps it up, thank for reading such a long post - cheers!

I want to delegate 12 SP to @tipU

Hi @worldfinances! Special squad of highly trained hamsters prepared this delegation link for you:
steemconnect: 12.0 SP delegation for @tipu.

You got a 17.46% upvote from @minnowvotes courtesy of @worldfinances!

How to get upvote

This is going to be huge man. I’m glad I got here early and an reap some serious rewards.

Well, that depends directly on STEEM price but HF20 (awesome post by the way) should be here soon or later so I think slight optimism is recommended :)

So... when I go to the steemdesk link, I see a much smaller number... but that's presumably because I have reinvest set to 90%, and steemdesk doesn't know that?

Yup, exactly :) steemdesk tracks only SBD (and STEEM I hope) that was sent to you. You can try to refund and see if it changes the APR, just for testing.

No worries. Also, because STEEM:SBD is less good now than it was before, if I withdrew now and immediately re-deposited, I would get less bang for my buck. The one concern I have, though, is that, after increasing the investment, the payout actually declined, not just the percentage (because I see that the total pool exploded)... this is presumably just because of the sinking value of SBD? Not because algorithms changed?

Nope, nothing has changed in the profit payouts code. There are 2 reasons for lower profit:

  • STEEM price dropped - this makes @tipu vote value lower so the income is also lower and this is a 1:1 ratio. If STEEM price drops by 50%, so does the profit.
  • there is a slight variation in payouts and its kinda hard to explain but lets try :) Lets say that @tipu voting starts at 8:00 each day and your profit is paid at 10:00. If only few users will buy votes until 10:00 - then most of the income will be generated after 10:00 and it will be paid in tomorrows payout - not today. So payouts each day may differ a little, depending on when most of the profit was generated. The bottom line is that no profit is lost, it just larger part might be paid today or tomorrow.

Have to considered putting the bot down for a day to allow for a full recharge? This will end up allowing larger profits in the long run. one day lost but 13% extra each day will have us net positive in a week.

OK, so amount of voting power at the start of voting session does not determnate the profit.

With lower voting power the vote is worth less but you can make more 100% votes because each vote deplates the total voting power by lower amount.

For example with 100% vp you can make 10 x 1 SBD upvotes.

With 50% vp you can make 20 x 0.5 SBD upvotes - the outcome (profit) is the same.

That being said, @tipu starts each voting session with 92% vp and continues to vote until a total of 20% vp is used - then proceeds to recover those 20% so that the next session starts again at 92% the same hour next day.

So 20% of total voting power is used and recovered each day and those 20% used will generate the same profit no matter if the voting starts from 100% or 30%, for example.

Hope this makes sense, it was a long day :)

Ahh makes sense. This is very intuitive I made fun say.

this is by far the best delegation service i have seen yet! I will do a bit more research but im pretty much sold lol.

Thank you!

I want to delegate 330 SP to @tipU

Hi @lasper! Special squad of highly trained hamsters prepared this delegation link for you:
steemconnect: 330.0 SP delegation for @tipu.

I want to delegate 1330 SP to @tipU

Hi @lasper! Special squad of highly trained hamsters prepared this delegation link for you:
steemconnect: 1330.0 SP delegation for @tipu.

Thanks for the link to check delegation rewards. Very helpful. I was trying to do it manually and it was just not working for me hah.

i want to delegate 700 SP to @tipu

Hi @moeenali! Special squad of highly trained hamsters prepared this delegation link for you:
steemconnect delegation link..

Hi, I just wanted to make sure everything is working right. I delegated to days ago and received this message:

2 days ago Transfer 0.001 SBD from tipu Thank you, your delegation of 500.0 STEEM POWER has been confirmed. You now have 0.4309% share in tipuvote! profits :) Payouts are done daily if your profit is at least 0.001 SBD. Please remember that delegations don`t add up so if you want to delegate more, delegate new total number of SP (previous delegation + new one). Please note that your delegation could be made in the middle of voting time so first payout may be lower. If you want to check your investment status, send 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo: status

Here is my first payout message:

yesterday Transfer 0.537 SBD from tipu Payout from @tipU | Total @tipU profit: 163.547 SBD | Your current share: 0.221600% | Your profit: 0.537 SBD | Auto reinvested: 0 STEEM, reinvest ratio at 0% | Your investment: 500.0 SP delegated + 0 SP invested out of 225629.084 SP total | Thank you! PS. You can now tell @tipU to make instant payout, more info here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@tipu/tipu-investors-update-payout-on-demand

I don't understand why my share went from 0.4309% to 0.221600%. Can you enlighten me?

don't understand why my share went from 0.4309% to 0.221600%

New delegations :) 500 out of something like 120k is 0.43% (calculations from top of my head)
500 out of 225k is 0.22%

But this doesn't lower your profit by any means, it's just a statistic number.

Oh, i see. So there was a bunch more overall investment that diluted my percentage, but since it is paid at a set rate it doesn't affect my profit. Thank you for the quick response!

No problem :) more investments means more total income so even though the share is lower, the profit is the same. 1% from $100 is the same as 0.5% from $200 :)

hello @cardboard i want to ask someting if i invest SBD to tipu bot it will convert to steempower but when i want it back it will be in the form steempower or Refund will be in the form SBD

In SBD :) Feel free to test it with some small amount, like 0.01 SBD

ok thank you <3

Great news ! i hope i will delegate some more sp soon ! thanks for your work !

The auto reinvest feature sounds really good! Who doesn't want passive compounding earnings?

Thanks for this info

Thank you for this helpful information sir.

thank you for this post

And this is how you can make any delegation link: I want to delegate 50 SP to @tipU

Nifty! @tipu is my favorite. I don't think anyone else is doing everything y'all are doing.

Hi @cardboard! Special squad of highly trained hamsters prepared this delegation link for you:
steemconnect delegation link..

One more thing - I've written the post using busy.org and didn't notice that the auto-upvote was checked.

Upvote of 36.7 SBD was made, worth of 17.47 SBD. This amount will be of course added to investors/delegators payout balances from my deposit (so it's like I paid for the upvote, as it should be:)

Super :D

Hi @tipu, i just invested 4sbd, i think this is great and would like to know how it goes from here..

You don't have to do anything more, you will receive daily payouts automatically and if you want to take back your investment, send 0.001 SBD to @tipU with memo: refund
Thanks!

Thats greatnews @cardboard.... All i have to do now is relax then... Ill follow tipu all the time now..

Same here! Let's see how it works 😉

This is so dope @tipu. I love you guys!!I've been using your service for about a month now and I am delighted!! I'm starting today with more investment. Thank you..

Thanks for the mention of steemdesk.com. I really appreciate it.

SteemDesk is an open source project. Anybody can add feature requests or bugs to the issue tracker.

Congratulation tipu! Your post has appeared on the hot page after 1min with 2 votes.

Were they the votes from the vote-bots?

Please be kind enough to explain "delegation" to me so I can get it straight in my head. I would be SO grateful! :^)

I've been following your posts and I think I have the investing part figured out now, but "delegation" eludes me.

It's basically lending your STEEM POWER to someone else :) Check out this post:
https://steemit.com/steemit/@liberosist/a-brief-guide-to-delegating-steem-power

The cool part is that even that you're lending the SP, you still have full control over it and you can un-lend it anytime you want. There is no way that someone can steal it from you or do any other harm to your steem account.

Thank you @cardboard. Still looks terribly confusing. Just reading through that post makes my head swim. (No minnow pun intended.) LOL Do you have to have Whale status to delegate?

Nope, you can delegate even 0.001 SP - this still will be tracked by @tipU.
Delegaing around 1 SP should be enough for daily payouts :)

You got a 16.91% upvote from @postpromoter courtesy of @tipu!

Want to promote your posts too? Check out the Steem Bot Tracker website for more info. If you would like to support the development of @postpromoter and the bot tracker please vote for @yabapmatt for witness!

I am very much glad to be a member of steem.I think i should invest on it.

Hi I sent 8sbd before the 30 minute mark. It said it would vote in 26 minutes but I never got a vote or refund.

Checking - probably I was updating something, will resolve in few minutes.

wow that was a quick reply, thank you very much

3 minutes ago:

tipu send 0.001 SBD to kirkins
@tipU made 16.8 SBD upvote to: >what-is-the-88-85-voting-ring< paid from your deposit for 8.0 SBD. Thank you for using @tipU! PS. The newer and more interesting is your post, the higher max upvote you can get from @tipU :)

Is it this post? If yes, all went well:) You can check the upvote values here:

Well, those numbers are very exciting! I've increased my investment!

Thanks! :)

i want to delegate 0 SP to @lost-ninja

Hi @improv! Special squad of highly trained hamsters prepared this delegation link for you:
steemconnect delegation link..

many of these kind of service is popping out, it remains good for the platform, but to what extent?... think about it.

I haven't used any other ones, because @tipu seems different. I think it adds real functionality and value to the system; you see all the tools it has created?

I like to think that investing in voting bots is kinda like buying crypto mining contracts for STEEM/SBD - but this time mining does not mean validating the crypto transactions but, at least sometimes, promoting valuable content on the blockchain.

But you're right, steem is kinda taken over by voting bots now. Thankfully many bots use part the profit to do something more, like curate good content, so I hope to use part of the 50% curation rewards that's left to do the same :)

Plus, it came from a service that was entirely just a useful function. Because of that, as I watch you grow its functionality, I feel like it's more about investing in your programming expertise, than in a voting bot.

As you're looking for good content to promote with your curation capabilities, can I suggest you check out projects by #isleofwrite and @freewritehouse/#freewrite

And I'll suggest my own Punday contests as an option, too. After all, I use @tipu as my means for offering prizes!

OK, will check it out!

so amazing story!!

Hi! I am a @cat3. I like your post! I also post content that readers might be interested in:
https://steemit.com/earnmoney/@cat3/my-success-work

I delegated to @tipu 15,600 sp few hours ago, but I received the following message "Your deposit for sending tips and upvotes: 0.0 SBD. Your investment status: you have no investment or delegation made to @tipU"

Would you check my ID @chairmanlee with steem power delegation tracker then you will know it. Thanks

Its the result of the server outage at night, Im on it :)

Would you check my investment figure? I invested 16,409, but your message says "Your investment status: 16000.002 SP delegated + 0 SP invested " Thank you for the service.

Yep, already fixed (the same issue as @chairmanlee above). Should the reinvest be at 100%?
by the way, if by any chance you're somehow connected to @timlee - I'm on it now :)

Yes reinvest at 100% thanks.

OK, all fixed, sorry for the problems! Please check status to be sure everything is set properly :)

Hello and sorry for posting here my concern because this is the only way I know that my fellow steemir can see me! I just wanted to ask only I know your an expert now here because im only new here..regarding to my estimated account value is not splitting to steem dollars but only to steem power only can have because i know I start with 100% power up when I post any not the 50/50..so my ask how can I split now this? this is my screenshot. Thank you!!!Clipboard-1.jpg
I hope anybody can help me for this thank you!!!!!

This option was recently moved so no wonder you can not find it.

Please go to your account settings and you will find it at the bottom of the page. Here is a direct link:
https://steemit.com/@princesmae/settings

thank you!

that was amazing

23 Hours ago from your msg "Your investment: 0 SP delegated + 353.409 SP invested out of 115514.172 SP"

22 Minitues ago from your msg " our investment status: 0 SP delegated + 279.89 SP invested"

Facts : I reinvested 100%. Actually I delegated 279.89 steem power, and I invested around 410 SBD(converted 353. sp, you said).
So check my status please.

Yes, Ive noticed, didnt had access to bot to update it - the delegation overwritten the investment because of my mistake, thanks power failure :(

Will fix it asap.

OK, fixed - the 279.89 SP is now properly saved as delegation and the invested STEEM is at 353.409 (409.955 SBD was sent). Please feel free to test it with status or refund commands. By the way, no profit was lost because at the time when the error occurred, @tipU was recovering voting power (and still is).

Sorry for that, seriously - just when I went to sleep there was a power failure which took down the service server. This caused few errors (see comments above) - just when the post hit trending and new delegations came. Thankfully, because of the transparency and @tipu confirming every delegation / investment it's easy to track the errors. Just didn't have time in the morning to double check everything.

No problem at all. And I am really happy for the your support and effort. Thanks indeed.

let's vote together @zuhrafriska

Congratulations @tipu!
Your post was mentioned in the Steemit Hit Parade in the following category:

  • Pending payout - Ranked 9 with $ 360,66

hello @tipu. How can I get 300% of upvoting ?
Is there a way to get?
Thank you.

Its all random :)

Thanks for making such an insightful update. I have just invited you to the Minnowbooster Whitelist program so you may buy a bigger and more profitable vote from them upon approval. All the best!

thank you for this post , really nice

Ugh, its becoming increasing difficult to tell if Steemit is just a bank for delegators or an actual blogging platform.

It will be both, but a balance needs to be maintained somewhere.

A blogging platform is an interesting real-world application of the blockchain platform.

A bank for speculator's to increase their holdings is essentially what every other coin out there is about. This is the part the draws all the comparisons with ponzi schemes.

I'd also argue people selling their SP so people can self-vote is damaging to the platform. There is supposed to be a curation-class that encourages and maintains quality on the platform. That part of the steemit-social contract is breaking down with delegation pooling, vote-selling and payouts.

Well the curstion class only seems interested in voting on blogs with large dollar signs so this argument is moot.

Well, however we will discuss it, the whole steem ecosystem is livng on its own and we have no influence over where it goes.

Its also impossible to design and code a system, where people would behave 100% rationally and not selfish. If delegations wouldnt be possible, people would find another way to get the best possible outcome for themselves. Its just how we're designed.

Selfishness is perfectly fine. Its an amazing motivator when its put to work to help the entire system as a whole. Selfishness can drive good behavior like this:

However, the carrots and sticks need to be made in such a way that they don't open themselves up for abuse like this:

I'd argue the later really highlights delegation and bidbots.

i finnlay found this so i feel so glad
this post is amazing,cool

a good way to redirect funds

The refund option is just AMAZING ! I think you are the best bot !
The only risk is that you steal our invested SBD, but I trust you D: !
Thanks !

Well, its really fun to design and implement things like the reinvest and then observe how it works :) Also its always more profitable to run the bank instead of robbing it, although with sharing 100% of the profit and 50% curation rewards its gonna take a while to earn the Lambo :D

This article has best idea thanks
