I am extremely excited for the communities feature, much more than anything else on the Steem roadmap. I was really disappointed that they can't even provide a vague idea of when it will be ready though.
Even just give us a quarter in the year - is it Q2, or Q4 of 2018? That makes a huge difference and if they can't even predict to that level with 3 months of leeway it's concerning.
I am not really looking forward to that. User will post, read and live in their community bubble.
We will have a huge crypto community.. And lots of empty ones around
