Hi Steemians,
I have been unable to be completely active on Steemit for some days now. Personal life needs some attention too so there has been some inactivity on Steemit. I kept checking the translation contest post though for sanctioning new requests and checking the entries already posted. It was the second contest conducted by me. First one was the healthy engagement contest, which was purely for newbies.

@ilyastarar thank you for your guide on Minnow Booster I am just starting to use it and am loving the results. It really opens up a world of possibilities. Thank you for adding more value to steem with your care and guides. I just rebloged this post and am going to point people here to show them your guides. thanks again for minnow booster!!!!
Thank you so much for your feedback. Your comment encourages me to get back to work. I have a lot to do still.
How is the leasing sp working out for you are you leasing it then selling the votes? @rkz and I are testing it out and was wondering your results so far. @ilyastarar
That is one thing I am doing. Another thing is the votes I am able to give to the authors that I think deserve my votes. Yet another thing is rewarding good comments with tiny votes as well.
There is a lot that you can do with SP. Supporting others as well as getting some economic benefits for yourself are two ways to use SP.
Selling votes is working fine for me. I am able to do it ocassionally when I myself am sleeping and my VP is regenerating. So far so good.
I invested in SP to help people I enjoy engaging with. I am wanting to build up bigger sp to vote them more. So I can see how I can use that to really boost my friends... It is all about building community. Thank you for your reply and feedback I also see how some people are able to vote for me on a consistent basis that is a cool feature I am going to use so I can promote the authors I really like but am so busy I forget to get around to them all.
Thank you @purepinay for always supporting me
Thank you @ilyastarar for the guides I realize just how much I have to learn.
I'll cover that cool feature soon in detail so that you can vote people consistently too.
WOW, your guides are so incredibly detailed! I have just started reading them (I found your post about minnowbooster and it led me here). I just used a bot (pretty much used all my steem dollars on it lol) and it was pretty stressful but it did come through, I just wonder if I should be doing it. I understand it takes a while to gain followers here, and I have gotten some great interactions so far! But I feel bad about using the bot on that post for some reason! So my question is, since I’m so new... should I be using the bots or focus more on interactions which is what I have been doing since I joined? Is it even possible for someone like me (a plankton) to become a minnow through only commenting and posting blogs? Thanks again for your posts, I have a lot of reading to do!
There is nothing wrong with using bots. Read more to know my detailed opinion.
Using bots:- I have used boughts very few times in my eight months here. Initial uses were just experiments. I started using MinnowBooster only recently to get some initial boost and it helped me gain the momentum.
Interaction:- For me, interaction has been the key! I cannot advise anyone to rely on bots. Also, I will never advise anyone to reduce interaction.
So, use bot promotion only on the posts which you think are your best work and deserve some recognition even if paid one. Do not use bots as ROI tools, never!
I am a live example of an absolute plankton becoming a sufficiently influential minnow without relying on bots. Interaction has been my strongest thing. You can see my comments to see that. See this very comment for example. So, it is very much possible.
Wishing you more success!
Thank you for the words of encouragement! I will definitely keep reading your posts to learn more!
Do you know why the post payout value on the article is totally different from the actual rewards that you get?
It seems like the post payout on the article is US dollars because it is much higher than what is actually being paid out in Steem.
Yeah, I've been wondering about that too.
I know and I have clearly explained it. See the guides in advanced understanding. You have your answers there.
Thank you for the answer, and that post was very well written, I had been trying to work out in my mind what was going on, and thought that the US Dollar had something to do with it, you've confirmed it for me and I can point other people to that article from now on as well.
So glad you found your answer and anyone who asks you will find his too.
Thank you for such a comprehensive list of guides for newcomers! I am going to work through all of them and have bookmarked this page for future reference, also to pass on to friends who are keen to join Steemit.
One of the issues facing new users is the restrictive bandwidth allocation which affects posting ability. I will see if you've covered it when I get through your posts, but I searched Steemit when I was faced with the problem and couldn't find a precise explanation for how it works, so I figured it out for myself:
A simple way to reduce your usage:
Also, your usage decreases as the post ages while active, after 7 days it's no longer counted.
There are a few other details and tips, but I think those were the ones I didn't find mentioned anywhere.
One major thing I have learnt is that there is a LOT to learn, and user posted guides are the best way to learn! So again, thank you for your guides, all in one place!
Thank you so much for your feedback. You are simply awesome. It's a track that will never fail you. Keep learning.
I haven't covered bandwidth much, probably because I never faced it myself, but it has emerged as a problem now. Let me add two or three things for you.
Bandwidth is the measure of data that you can post on the blockchain. Your assumptions are right. Anything you add to the blockchain deducts your bandwidth.
Steem Power (SP) is your vested share in the platform. The more stake you have in the blockchain, the more bandwidth you are allowed to use.
Voting Power (VP) determines current rate of your vote. It broadly means how much influence you have on the blockchain at a particular time. Low VP dcreases your bandwidth as well.
So, bandwithdth can be increased by having more SP and monitoring VP by voting sensibly. At the same time, use of less data reduces the chances of exceeding bandwidth limit.
I hope you got something substantial out of my reply. I will cover the technical and mathematical findings after a thorough research.
Yes, I certainly did, thank you so much, you are awesome too 😆 I have many interests and Learning is at the top of the list. I look forward to seeing your findings and post on the bandwidth issue.
Is This Ok If We Lease Steem Power??
Is It Profitable??
If Yes, Then Where Would You prefer to Lease from??
Leasing SP can be a big boost to any newbie and minnow if he or she knows how to use it responsibly. I would encourage you to click the minnowbooster guide in the post and read it up. It answers your questions well. You can always leave a comment for further information.
do you find any other services topping minnowbooster? Thanks Ilyas. I'm also trying to increase my reputation, and I don't know how.
I won't say topping minnowbooster but I am experimnenting with a few things. SmartSteem is one interesting service but I am yet to use it to full.
For reputation, I would highly recommend reading my guide on reputation score. Understand how exactly it increases and then focus on making those things happen. Some action points:-
I hope it helps.
I agree with everything here. Thank you. I'll look forward to seeing what else helps. It seems you've done your research.
Any given approach to success anywhere will always be simple. It's more about habits and communication rather than technical know-how. Steemit is no different.
It was amazing translating the article :)
I can't wait to translate the rest, but your 1 post per week limit is killing me, although today I am doing a post for 6-7 hours at the moment of writing and I'm still not finished, still waiting for couple of permissions and conversations untill I brush it up and publish.
Thanks for making me move my butt when I realised what truly meant a quality post since the translation. :)
While I am pleased at your enthusiasm, I also wished to see people working on their ideas so I put a little bar. See, you are working on something that is taking time and effort. Doing so consistently will bring immense rewards. I can tell you that!
I trust you, I can see how many people we helped with your article :) A person in the comments said he bookmarked the article and said it was immense help, and he shared with pleasure and thanked us both, that really means something to me...
Congratulations on achieving that level of respect. For an author, a bookmark is a golden badge. I wish you more success.
Thank you but I told him that all the credits are yours, I only translated the very important detailed guide.
Thanks for being so great ilyas, this contest indeed have a huge success and the advantages achieved by the community because of the content created is tremendous!
You are amazing.
check my transfer to you, and I would love if you can answer through here.
:) <3
Sure. You can! It's a pleasure. Tweak as much as you feel is required.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
I have register on ginAbot but i cant get notification
Did you access the link and save notification settings?
Yes
I think it's a case of Discord app not being actively run. You will get live notifications only if the app is running and connected to internet.
I was trying to find a translation contest the past week because no one do this, (idk but I dont find this translation contest to often) I like to do this to help people and because this is something I want to study as a career, so... Thanks for doing this.
Glad you found something useful.
I'm okay at the moment talk later when I have a query.
Great!

HI, Mr. @ilyastarar
If I Send 1 sbd to any bidbot with 6 days older post. suppose they upvoted me with 2 sbd then how much i am going to claim on the next day (7th Day).
Is it profitable upvoting a 6 days older post???
what will be the Auther reward??
I do not recommend that; voting on 6th day. Many bots, most of them, do not allow votes on posts older than 3.5 days. I don't recommend bidbots as well because you don't get enough value.
For details on author rewards, please go through the guide on reward system.
Guides that all newbie's as well as old steemians need.
Hi Ilyas! I've been wondering lately what's up with Power up 100% and 50% both paying out in SP and SBD. I thought the point of Power up (when posting) is that you get the entire payout in Steem Power only, not Steem or Steem Dollars. Yet I still see that I get a (miniscule, lol) payout in SP as well as SBD. I think the 50/50 option doesn't pay out in SP but in Steem directly (as well as SBD), letting you choose whether you want to power up or not. Either way, I struggle to make sense of the math because I'm not getting anywhere near 50/50. Sometimes it's more SP than SBD but I consistently can't make any sense of it at all. I've looked up information about it but it's all old and outdated by now. For instance people swear by the fact that SBD is worth more than Steem but that's not the case anymore, you can get something like 1.15 or 1.20 SBD for every Steem now (so the other way around).
I've raised that in the past, it's really needlessly obscure how the payouts vary with time passed and even at the point of paying out as well.
Thanks for your good guides! It's very informative, at this point you should just add that to the official FAQ because it's more detailed than the official info.
I saw your rewards. I think you are using 50/50 option by default. Currently, 50/50 is more profitable. If you need more SP, just convert your SBD rewards to Steem and power up. I have covered it in how to buy Steem from internal market guide.
