So @suesa nominated me for the steemit name challenge and since I get asked about where my name comes from a lot, here it is.
But first, here we go with the rules:
- Tell us in a post how you chose the current Steemit username you have. The story behind it.
- Tell us your real name!
- If you could change your current username, which name would you choose and why? If you have a possible usernames list, mention it!
- Use the tag #steemitnamechallenge so that the creator of the challenge can track all the posts and check them out
- Nominate 5 people for this challenge
So, let's do this!
- My current name comes from a Magic: The Gathering card:
Which itself is a play on words with ragamuffin:
I really liked the name and the darkness associated with it, but changed it to reggaemuffin because everyone knows reggae but no one knows the word rag
So then I used that name as my backup username for a few years. It became my steem name, because the one I signed up with took a few days to be confirmed by steemit and I was not feeling up to waiting a week, so I created this acc with anonsteem. And when my other account got approved, I already had a brand on this one and liked the name.
I initially used a panther as a profile picture, as it had a very calm expression, being at peace with everything, while at the same time being extremely dangerous to those disturbing the peace.
I got some fan art and I commissioned them to create my current profile, as the panther was a black blob in small spaces and not really recognizeable.
My current logo is a play on the history of the name, being a muffin with reggae style and a panther face:
I won't be telling you my real name. It has no connection to my user name.
I build a brand with my name, I would not change it. I like how you can shorten it to RM, reggae or muffin and it is unique enough so I know I am meant by it.

I've come across word ragamuffin and thought there might be a connection. But I was afraid to ask as the word has somewhat demeaning feeling. Now that you've shown the card I see what you mean and what steem means to you. You're sacrificing yourself to it.

My account is @fararizky it comes from my name Farhani Rizky. Fara is my nick name, its collaborated between my father and mother nick name. And Rizky, its about money in and wealth. But for me Rizky = Risk. Ya life have many Risk that you have being stronger to face it.

Well basically it means someone in dirty clothes on the street, mostly a child. I think of it as being humble in what you represent, but to be honest I didn't knew the meaning when I found the name the first time ;)

I love MtG. I didn't think there would be other MtG players on Steem. What would you think of a Steem MtG tournament. That would be awesome I think. Do you know if there are enough players in here that would participate? It might be worth a try.
Probably a few, but we would need to meet up for that, right? I think most online MtG tools are pretty bad.
And you will probably hate my decks xD
Well there is XMage, which is working pretty good and only has hell of an UI. That would also make people able to play with any deck they like. Even if our tournament is in vintage. xD
I really like the Idea of it and with XMage it would be quite easy to make.
All my decks are 15 years old, I definitely want to play vintage 😂
Well vintage is probably too complicated of a format. xD It has a very unique playstyle. I think modern would be the "best" format for such a tournament. But Standard/Legacy might be worth a try as well xD
I'm honestly not sure as of what the different formats mean and what their complications are. My decks are mostly cards from 2000-2008 or so I think. I stopped playing with all these ghost decks and ninjas I think.

so in the 80s and early 90s I used to go to a lot of jam band festivals. Like 20 bands in a muddy field kinda things... one of them was popular for a decade or so in east coast USA, called The Disco Biscuits. I am always reminded of their name when I see yours, brotha!

I will update to 19.10 when it is stable enough to run it on rpc nodes. We currently have many annoyances with appbase and I don't want to compromise my witness node with breaking changes at this time.
