You are one of the few on Steemit from who I actually value the content of, in that regard I don't really look much at the SP (getting a vote back is not required even though it's highly appreciated). I have some general things I look at when it comes down to putting people on my personal upvote list without asking anything in return whatsoever.
One of the things is SP (that can be used to support the community) in relation to the average daily post earnings. I have a weakness to support steemians that have a longer term growing mindset, have some steem power they use to support others while their post earnings are sometimes lower compared to a 10x self upvote. (for example someone with 0.05$ upvotes who gets 3$ + daily post earnings worth does not really need any support from the angle I look at it)
It's a very tricky thing to increase your own post earnings on Steemit without hurting what you are able to give back to others. I don't really know what ratio is acceptabe of leased out SP to get higher Post earnings vs Owned SP that makes your upvote worth more. I do know that it really puts me off when I see accounts that have a large part of their SP leased out to get daily upvotes on their own posts in return.
It is one of the reasons why I put in a rule of 40SP owned for each share someone can get from the @upvoteshares account.
Thanks @costanza and same here, it also turns me off seeing an account delegating most if not all of its SP to bid bots or other services in exchange for daily guaranteed profits and leaving nothing much to offer for others. I see it as too self-centered and honestly greedy.
The 1250 delegation I received did allow me though to freely delegate most of my SP to some communities, in order to increase my daily guaranteed upvotes without hurting my reputation that much. Since the delegation was time limited, I think this was the best way to increase my SP fast without self-voting.
Also one of the reason why I am immediately powering up the received Steem is because of your upvoteshares iniative as I don't want to cause any problems :)
I have also reduced and even undelegated to some of the "inactive" accounts I have created for people I have invited over to steem, which would make my effective SP at 300 after a week.
