Kermit the Frog from the "Muppets" dropped that line in a song about thirty years ago and that was the case for the prices for picking up green (Earth) cards this week on the market. At least "It ain't cheap buying green," steemmonster regular commons. The Flesh Golem has taken over as the common by a long margin, seeing a low price of $0.20 as of Friday July 27 10:55pm et with less than 100 listed for sale on https://steemmonsters.com/#. The rarity and appeal of the card has me perplexed, but until the game is unveiled concerning the attributes and effects of each card we will have to see what happens from here and until then as the availability has become difficult at best to attain this card in the meantime.
Epics of all five colors have seen jumps in drastic amounts over the last week, as all ten at the current moment are trading consistently as of today in the $0.65-0.70+ range as of the time of this post. The appeal to collectors there is very likely them being the second highest rank in caliber (to all Legendary) in the regular (non-gold) market.
Spikes in these prices over the week have come as at least one person has claimed and confirmed to have leveled up their set and that is @clove71. She is the second person to have claimed and confirmed this feat as @thomasgutierrez is reportedly the first. @clove71 does a daily dlive broadcast on all things steemmonsters I recommend checking it out it is a very well done and colorful analysis of the facets of the game up to this point. I also recommend tuning into to a dlive broadcast run by a cast of people including @littlescribe that is also very professionally packaged featuring great segments for steemmonsters including stories of the characters (yep the character on the card brilliantly) read, steemmonster breaking news, steemmarket analysis with @davemccoy, and a growing community of rabid fans that tune in to this weekly show and put in their two cents in the comments. The show airs live on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm (US)ET.
+With the rise in lowest priced commons this week from a stable, expected level of 5-6 cents to a level of 6-7 cents each on Friday we shall also see if the rares, epics and legendaries are effected by this sudden jump in price. If you are new to steem monsters, go to https://steemmonsters.com/# and look at the cards on the market. Filter your search by commons. Find a card for sale by @cryptkeeper for 8 cents then leave a one sentence explanation in the comment section of what you like about the card or why you would want it and you could wind up winning that card if the comment/sentence is a good one!

I would without a doubt be the skeleton assassin... I think that card is bad ass and I would relish the chance to slide past the defenses and use that blade to do some serious damage! I think you would prefer the fire cards from what I have read, but hey each of us has our dark secrets :P
I got interested in Steem Monsters thanks to that big Newbiegames contest. There's still a lot that I don't understand, like leveling up. I know that combining two of the same card will level it up, but what determines how much XP it'll get? Is it the rarity or is it card specific? And is there a max level cap already?
Ugh, also, the Steem Monsters site gives me so much trouble! Really hard to navigate for blind users using a screen reader. I had to dig into the site's Javascript code to find the cards you're selling.
So many Divine Healers in there (spreading healing magic through the market? I already have it, though). So many Pirate Captains too, which is a card I keep stumbling into the name of but don't have yet. But if I could have a card, I'd pick the Silvershield Knight. Knights make me think of protection, and the Life element sounds nice (divine stuff, blessings etc.). (hahaha, just some baseless ramblings from someone who knows nothing about card games and has no idea what these cards might do :P )

This might be the most frustrating time for you in this game, but once it begins play in about 5 to 6 weeks (I believe somewhere in that time frame) this is a game that could really be very well suited for you. I just got them sent. I every common minus a few that I didn't have level ones of, some rares and and some epics. You are off to a good start I see, I would wait to level anything up yet, we don't know the rules and it's good to keep your options open, nothing hurts waiting to make that decision. I think I've been very lucky with getting cards so far. I met a user who gave up on his cards and I bought all his 34 cards for 1.2 SBD, and now you've sent me all these! :D
Ironically, even though I probably have all cards from the starter pack already, I'll still have to buy the starter pack to qualify for tournaments (I'll have to save up some SBD for that, as I need SBD to grow my account too). Once that's taken care of, I think I'll be done with my collection for a while. (I hope the addiction doesn't catch me :P )
I agree on waiting to know the rules before deciding what to do with the duplicates. I only hope they can do something about the accessibility of the site until September, or I'll have trouble even to choose the cards for battle. I left a suggestion as a comment to one of the official posts a few weeks ago, but don't know if they've seen it.
Yeah let's hope that bug does not get you. I would suggest leaving a message with @yapabmatt, that guy can probably answer the question what it will be or not very likely so you could have some idea, he's a really good guy on here and does a lot of work across the board on steemit. If you mentioned it direct to him that may get through the chain of command better, I don't know what to tell you there. They are swamped, I can only imagine how badly working like maniacs to get this ready so I certainly don't know what to say but mention that to him and get his thoughts is my best advice.
