Thanks to the drop in the price of Steem, I treated myself to some extra Steem. Rather by coincidence, I brought my account pretty close to dolphinhood.
To celebrate this unforseen event, I thought I'd hold a little Giveaway.
And what is a better giveaway item these days than a collection of SteemMonsters Booster packs. SteemMonsters are getting hotter each day, and new people are getting involved as we speak.

Awesome idea. I am in the process of taking advantage of the low Steem price myself. I am hoping I can get to 500SP with a little transaction here or there. I haven't been able to purchase a lot of booster packs because I have been putting all of my SBD and STEEM into powering up. That's my pitch I guess. I nominate @daan and @slobberchops for packs as well. Either way, this is a great thing you are doing helping others out and I am super excited to see what the future holds for Steem Monsters.
In my humble opinion, I think that investing your money in your account is way smarter than investing it in digital cards for a game that doesn't even exist yet, lol. Definitely when the 500sp milestone is within reach.
Personally, I'm going back and forth when it comes to SM. At times, I really suffer from FOMO, and then I head to the website to buy a couple of decks. But most of the time I already feel bad for spending that money by the time I'm opening my second deck. I assume that will change once the tournaments have started. I have never played a game like that before, so as long as we are still waiting, I don't have a clue how the game will be played, nor if I will like it.
But what I do know is that most people like a good giveway, and for that reason, the cards are pricesless, lol

Thank you! Yeah I haven't spent a ton on it like some people because i am building my account like I said. Having played games similar to how I think this is going to work, my biggest fear is that tournament winners will be based on how much a person. Has spent. I hope that isn't the case, but if it is, it may just fall into the bin with the other pay to win games out there.

I like these kind of contest, where people are invited to, well say just about anything. I mean I could have done another phobia type thing or something else just as silly. Just think, there may be people that read my comment that have never heard of the movie "Sound Of music", (which i do not really like), but it still a good thing to watch. (Too many happy moments in glorification of well not good stuff). But all's well that ends well. M ybe next time I will h ve problem with my one of my keybo rd keys not working s it should. Who knows, fun is fun.

I should be a chosen one, because I liked Steem Monsters before it was cool, and even then it was already cool.
I did not have enough SBD to buy a pack when they first came out, so I joined the map drawing and writing contests and now I am part of the game. Most of my cards come from contests, and tonight my son came to me and said "can we open some monster cards?" But alas, I had no unopened packs left.....

I just bought 5 more packs. I have 4 gold foils = 1 epic, 2 rare, 1 common. I also got a couple of regular cards 1 is legendary, 6 epics, 15 rare, and a boat full of commons. i got a line on a couple of regular dragons also for the cheap kinda.

I did spend €250 on crypto. But as that was around January 2018, that has basically dropped in value with around 50%. Back then I didn't know about Steem, so I gambled on other crypto coins.
Even if I would have known about Steem I would have only spend €50 on it. To spread my crypto risk a bit I bought different coins. And €50 would have only given me around 25 Steem back then. So that wouldn't help much.
I should be one of the chosen ones because I fully believe in the platform like steemit and believe it will change the world. I was a dreamer at bitcoin 1100 that it would one day reach 12k and now I have raised my ante. I envision these steemmonsters and blockchain games powered on the steem platform along with steepshot and steemit to carry the world to the next level and everyone will be on board if we continue to progress together. Right now we are progressing slowly but need to continue to move forward...

The reason I want the cards is because I’m really addicted to Steem Monsters, especially the feeling of openning the booster packs. It’s a great feeling pulling out a gold or legendary. Since this is a random contest and the winners will be chosen randomly, I think I should win because I can be totally random. This comment, for instance. It's random. I just decided to write it out of pure randomness to see if my name could be drawn. Randomness is the best way to order, and I'd like to order some Steem Monsters cards (because I'm addicted to them).

Why should I win? Because it might help me buy into this whole steemmonsters thing :) I know it's big, I know there's piles of people excited about it all, but I just don't have the time (or perhaps haven't taken the time?) to sort it all out and get excited about it. On the flip side, I feel like I'm missing out on something big LOL There is no pleasing me some days haha

Why me? Well - I'm HODL'ing my steemmonsters like they are the most valuable crypto I posses! I'm super excited that two of our witnesses felt so in love with this platform that they decided to build a dream game on the Steem Blockchain, this game alone will add so much value to Steem in the future - sometimes I can't contain my excitement about the development. So honestly, every card I get, whether it's a common or a Gold Foil, I HODL to play with and earn with and collect with <3 So basically my Card Collection is a great place to be a part of if you were a Steem Monster Card - I simply value you ;-)

Hey, @simplymike. I'm not trying to enter here (not that big on cards in general), but I thought I'd do a little bit of supporting here. Mainly just wanted to say cool for getting more STEEM and getting that much closer to dolphinhood. I've been waiting to see what else prices might do but do plan to buy more soon. Unless the price goes down significantly, I won't get to 4,000-ish like you did, but I will be in the solid 3,000s, which sounds better than the low 2,000s. :) Need to do something to keep above the dust threshold since the value of my SP keeps dropping.

Well, I find myself wishing it would just do something and get it over with. A dip of a day or so to $0.50 USD, and then take off to the $15 people keep predicting around here would be great. I'd get to dolphinhood or pretty close to it that way by investing at the lower, and then my overall investment would be boosted by a factor of 15. And then I could tell my wife that I actually made more than she did by 2.5 times. That I think might make her okay with all of this. :) A guy can dream, right?
So basically you just want to brag to your wife, lol. Fine by me if that brings up tve price to $15.
But I'm afraid we're going to need a lot of patience before we will see such a price :0)
I would agree, but it's the folks that have been here a while who are calling it. People who know a thing or two. People who would know better than to throw wild numbers about. So, I don't know. I make those predictions, totally discount it. :)
Well, bragging isn't exactly the word I would use. I would say it's more justification of my STEEM existence, which may or may not be better. The bragging part can come later. Right now, I just need for her to see some kind of benefit to any of this.

I'm trying my luck. I have many card packs open with no gold luck. I do fan art from Steem Monsters contests sometimes because I'm a fan and all of the cards I get are the simple ones and I want a gold card so I keep trying until I get it. I nominate @cryplectibles and @blewitt
