RE: SteemPeak Release - Update v1.11

This is perhaps my favorite steemit interface and I use it just about every day.

I do request though, that can you add a feature to search for articles from authors with a certain steam power or reputation? (*like search for authors who have a steam power of 32 - 200, or reputation below 40) I find it difficult to find new authors, or undervalued authors as their content gets pushed way down. I like to be able to discover these more easier and help curate good stuff.

You Rock Steempeak!

That's actually an amazing feature...that would be so helpful to support newbies!!!
Great idea!

Another feature that comes to mind would be being able to search by downvotes. Since HF21 has been proposed to add a downvote pool, being able to search for posts and comments most downvoted would allow users to use their free flags to contribute their curation to reduce spam and scams that harm all of us.

Additionally, some accounts abuse their flags, and being alerted to such downvote abuse would enable people to counter unjustified flagging with their upvotes. Flags on this comment are such abuse, and will provide a perfect example of the problem as well as an opportunity to act. Were widespread upvotes to counter unjust flags forthcoming from the community, such flagging would soon end, as the intention to censor or do financial harm to folks by downvoting them would prove counterproductive.

I hope Steempeak leads the way on this by adding such a feature. All of us are going to be availed of a tool soon to improve curation when the free downvote pool is added to our abilities, and being able to find the posts that our VP is necessary to curate is necessary for that new tool to be useful.

Looks like your little friend didn’t flag this one. Interesting.

I have two flags on the comment. Perhaps Partiko doesn't show them?

Well I hope people don't hink Iam abusing my flags for flagging any bib bot buyer regardless?? People are going to have to look carefully. I already get lot of flack for flagging! People say I abuse the flags but I always have a reason. Not sure why i flag trash flags your comment??? (sorry my keyboard just wont get all the keys)I thought i flag trash was on the right side butI guess I never see it flagging bid bot buyers??

Bernie started the bidbot business. He bailed (I think) at least @randowhale isn't around anymore, but he could still be delegating to bidbots. He is morally aligned with bottery. @iflagtrash is one of his bots specifically used to flag people unwilling to pander to his stake.

I ain't panderin'.

As to flagging every bot user, I don't think that's reasonable. I am deeply morally opposed to automated votes of any kind. I think it's actually existentially dangerous as it degrades the sanctity of humanity by equating our judgment with automated processes, and I'm particularly opposed to selling votes. However, some folks need to get the word out in the world we live in, and bots will do that, while wishes, good writing, and hope won't. I've even upvoted posts that have purchased votes for that and similar reason.

The essence of humanity is judgment. Don't reckon we should make blanket statements, or blanket flag. Each circumstance is unique, and the world is what it is. It may be advisable to buy a vote and visibility in the perverse extant system for some reasons. I won't do it no matter what, but I don't have to take my own advice =p

Edit: no one likes being flagged. It's likely that even if people agree with you on some points, they'll object to being flagged anyway, because they see it as costing them money. You're going to be very likely to encounter retaliation sooner or later for flagging bidbot users, and some of them have significant stake. I'm not saying don't do it, but do be aware of the risks.

I submit me as an example of how flag abuse can continue for a long time. Go in for the right reasons, and knowing what to expect. "Be always sure you are right. Then go ahead."--Davy Crockett

You are right I don’t have the time to do it manually! I found plenty of capable bots open iut there that could do it for me, maybe take the cheetah bot and reprogram a little. Just set a curation trail to reverse flag! I will figure out a way if I set my mind to it! Steemit needs a bud bot flagger bot to balance out the universe!

I can appreciate that the task is beyond one person manually undertaking it. However, when you start autoflagging bidbot customers, the logical response is for bidbots to autoflag you. This doesn't increase human society. In fact the contest is between bots using up resources intended for people to direct society with, rather than actual human engagement.

This is why I am opposed to autovotes. Were no bots involved and folks only curated manually those posts they saw and wanted to discourage from buying votes, it's likely the highest rewarded posts would get hit the most and the hardest (ignoring retaliation potential), and that over time smaller accounts would benefit more and Steem be dispersed more widely, amongst other benefits of manual curation.

Pretty sure if you either start your own flagging trail, or join those as might already exist, you'll be met with retaliation. It'd be poor business for the bidbots not to try to discourage you.
