So today I started to browse on Partiko and a pop up ad appeared for a few seconds.
I've got a fairly extreme position, I know, but I hate ads. I never view them unless absolutely necessary, and I'm willing to invest some money if it keeps me from having to waste time on ads and be influenced by them.
Fortunately, there is a great alternative, namely switching to use Steempeak on my phone. I had discovered Partiko before I discovered Steempeak, and the former was a smoother experience on mobile at the time. However, @steempeak has kept up great quality of life improvements, while the biggest changes to Partiko have been ads.
As an Android user, I think the choice is an easy one: use the cutting edge client I use on desktop that has now grown mature enough in its mobile design to be seamless as a transition, or keep using an app that pushes ads and doesn't have as many features.
Yes, Partiko has a loyalty points system, but from what I've heard this has generally had a negative, rather than a positive effect on the blockchain. In any case, the votes Partiko gives aren't enough to make it worth sticking with.

To support your work, I also upvoted your post!
Do not miss the last post from @steemitboard:
Have you tried esteem app?
No. What features does it offer?
I haven't used it for a long time. But if you are looking for a mobile app alternative @esteemapp is there. It is one of the oldest apps on Steem, developed and maintained by @good-karma. I don't know if they still do that, but they used to take 10% beneficiary for using the app. But they would also give upvotes for using their app.
You should definitely take a look, check their discord server for more details.
Can you explain it?
Other than that, I've also experience the presence of ads and can understand your stance. It was quite sudden of a change for an app like this. I mean, the very platform it connects to is not fond of the idea of ads, they should have known...
On the other hand, Partiko is so superior in terms of UX, compared to whatever earlier Android attempts I've tried that, I can't feel hatred for them showing ads. They deserve it imho.
Either way, shoutout to @steempeak since they indeed have a service totally unmatched by anything else, even Steemit Inc.! Maybe my favorite witness since the shutdown of Utopian.
The Partiko people won't blacklist spam, so people who spam, plagiarize, or otherwise mess around on Partiko get points like legitimate users, getting them upvotes that provide an incentive for that behavior.
The good thing is, their points are not worth that much, 1000 points $0.009 xD

Ironically this comment has got more rewards than the maximum you can get from Partiko points

Blacklists are an endless loop.
On one hand, it's not the duty of an app creator to apply any sort of blacklist, since in theorz, the community should regulate itself.
On the other hand, though, such "vendor blacklists" are an excellent way of helping it in practice.
Of course, I agree that front-end providers should never enable abuse, not even passively.
I'm not necessarily a fan of big blacklists (which is not to say I'm against them: I'm ambivalent about them, and if someone wants to use a community blacklist I'm not going to give them grief for doing so), but I do think that you should consider who you're supporting when you offer incentives.
I don't think Partiko's bad. My leaving Partiko isn't a moral stance against Partiko potentially creating issues on the blockchain, it's that I hate ads. I'm just adding it as a concern, something that Steempeak doesn't have a problem with because they're not supporting people with upvotes just for making content.
I've been using Steempeak a little bit here or there. It's not bad I just need to get use to it. I can see why you like it.
