So you didn't earn anything, because your initial post is a bit unclear, saying you earned 3K USD.
Some people are being misguided, thinking that people like you actually did earn 3 000 USD in their bank account, when in reality, nobody is getting USDs but Steem Power that you can't resell before 2 years and that will be worth next to 0 by then.

this system is more about having fun than earning money, the potential to earn money is just a bonus
I agree, it's fun. But i can see some people quitting their real job to steemit full time. Believing that they can make a quick buck posting useless stuff.
ok, you're right, I'm just a lousy scammer, you got me :)
It's fine, this is how the system is designed, to let people think that they are going to be rich to drag other people into the system to believe it too. While the big players cash out real cash to buy real stuff.
my last job was in 1999, that's how much money I have :)
If you need the money then why didn't you cash out ?
I would tell that person to earn enough money to live off for at least 6 months and have it the bank before quitting that job to do steemit full time. With enough steem power and time to blog, someone could do very well as a blogger on steemit
