Second Part Summary Entry:
Every night it’s the same dream. She is restrained by a safety-belt which digs into her torso and neck. Her parents are screaming, seemingly unaware of their little princess bearing witness to the final moments leading up to their death.
She tries to scream but no words pass her lips. Every time she opens her mouth the safety-belt digs into her chest and throat, painfully restraining her tiny body. Her parents lift their voices, the car speeds up and the safety-belt pulls her further into the darkness of her own terror. Her mother launches into Kenny and then…
"Aaaaah!!!", Cindy screams and shoots upright. It takes her a few moments to realize she's in her bed.
Sometimes she wakes up before the fatal crash, heaving, sweating, crying. But, most nights, she has to witness her parents' death, over and over, without release. The worst nights are, however, when Sandra appears. She opens Lynda’s bloodied hand and takes the cellphone. Mockingly, Sandra reads her text to the corpses one final time:
“I loved the way you looked at me last night. Pity your wife was there. Love, Sandra.”
Cindy raised her trembling fist and knocked on the door.
