RE: Weight or collector? What kinda of stacker are you?

in #steemsilvergold7 years ago

I started collecting coins over 40 years ago. I'll post some interesting items here soon. I stopped as an adult, but never sold what I had collected, as a kid/teen.
About 8 years ago, I re-started my 'hobby' again with American Silver Eagles, U.S. pre-1964 coins, Kennedy Half dollars and Mercury Dimes.
Along the way, I gained appreciation for some limited mintage Silver rounds with interesting designs, such as Silver Bullet Silver Shield.
My stacking position is based on Spot Price and also availability at the local coin shop.

  • When very low, like last week, down to $15.50 or so, I'm looking at just bulk / weight. Possibly, 5 ounce bar or 10 ounce bar, if available.
  • When Spot Price is doing its normal dance up / down, I take the time to select interesting rounds / bars, if available - otherwise just clean, nice rounds that are close to uncirculated.
