RE: One Thousand and One Nights: Aladdin and the Magic Lamp: 24th Night

in #story2 years ago

In the 24th Night from the tale of Aladdin, the Sultan agrees to let Aladdin marry his daughter on the condition that he presents forty large dishes of solid gold, filled to the edges with precious stones, in the shape of fruits of all colors and sizes, as well as forty beautiful adolescent slave girls led by forty young and robust black slaves. This extravagant request highlights the Sultan's desire for grand displays of wealth and luxury, and sets the stage for Aladdin's use of his genie to fulfill the request and win over the Sultan's favor. Will he make it? We shall see.
