I’ve long subscribed to the idea that thoughts become things, meaning any manifestation that happens in our physical lives is first born in that space between our ears. Even though I know this is true, sometimes as I’m going about the trials and tribulations of everyday life I tend to get temporary amnesia.
Many of you might remember that I ordered my Tesla Model 3 about a week ago.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my Facebook Memories and saw this post from March 31, 2016.

I didn’t remember posting this on Facebook in 2016 and instantly got shivers up and down my spine. This particular goal took six years to achieve. Now, let's be clear, it’s not like all you have to do is think about something and it’ll come true. You have to put in the work as well but what a great reminder to be mindful of the thoughts we entertain. Affirmations and the human mind are indeed a powerful thing; it's important to use them both wisely.
"Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny." - Mahatma Ghandi
As I'm doing my research I'm finding that switching from a traditional car to an electric vehicle requires quite a bit of forethought. One little detail with the Tesla that I wasn't aware of is the app allows you to name your car. So far my ideas are either quicksilver or silver ghost. Both are a little lame because the car is more grey than silver. Hopefully I'll come up with better options before my delivery day.
Have you recently bought an electric vehicle? If so, I’d love to hear how it’s working out for you. Feel free to share any helpful tips you can think of.

Following are some random photos from the last few days.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. Poetry should evoke feelings of melancholy, whimsy, it should remind us what it feels like to be in love, or cause us to think about something in a completely different way. I view poetry, and all art really, as a temporary and fragile bridge between our world and a more pure and refined one. This is a world we could bring into creation if enough of us believed in it. This book is ephemera, destined to end up forgotten, lingering on some dusty shelf or tucked away in a dark attic. Yet the words, they will live on in memory. I hope these words become a part of you, bubble up into your memory when you least expect them to and make you feel a little more alive.
Pick up a copy of Ephemera today on Amazon.

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.
These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you. Upgrade your life experience today for only $15.99 on Amazon.com.
Let’s Keep In Touch

A Bible book says " As a man thinketh so he is". Every thought comes to manifestation at the end. That is why the great men will advice we always think positively.
You can order one Tesla for me too. Thought in my head.
Thanks for sharing
Cheers
I truly believe that philosophy. That is why it's so important to constantly monitor your mental state to be sure you're attracting the proper things. I'd order you one if I could! It took me six years to manifest this one. Cheers to you! Have a good week.
I will really appreciate if you can order me one.
Thanks in anticipation
Cheers
If you could email me your delivery address I'll check into how feasible it will be. You can send that to "[email protected]".
I have emailed you my delivery address.
Thanks
It is always beautiful for people to realize their goals. Congrats my friend.
I think that Bell rock could be good for camping.
I enjoy seeing others reach their goals too. It does the heart good. Bell Rock would be an excellent camping spot but I don't think they allow it.
Why? Because of wild animals or forest fire?
Probably both. It's a Federal park, I believe so they're probably trying to preserve it as best then can. There are camp grounds elsewhere though, pretty close to this park.
There are things in life that are inexplicable, but they happen
I share your words; It is good to dream, but we must strive to make your dreams come true. Congratulations for all the beautiful things you are living
enjoy the weekendHello dear friend @ericvancewalton good afternoon
Thank you my friend! I hope you enjoy this week ahead!
One thing with Facebook is that it reminds us of most things we've done and said in the past that we absolutely wouldn't believe we did. Hahaha look at that lovely Tesla and how long it took you to achieve that dream. It must have felt surreal for you.
Those random shots are astonishing, blistering sunlight there and the effect on the sun on the pictures is astonishing. Look at Amstel looking all cute, how has your travels been thus far?
So true, man. Memories is my favorite feature of Facebook. It's a window into the past. It certainly does feel surreal. Back in 2016 it was just a far flung dream that, at the time, was probably more like wishful thinking on my part. The trip has been good so far. We have just a little over two weeks left at this point. This place is going to be difficult to leave.
Huh, must've missed that post - congrats on the new car!! Hope it's everything you wish for. And yes, I think the same - you are what you think, you attract what you project, and all that. But I think our thoughts seldom become things without us putting in the work, and that's where we become disabused of the idea.
PS: I don't know what that thing Amstel's dreaming of is, but I like to think it's food. I'm certainly dreaming of food.
Thank you! Work is indeed an important part of the equation. This is where many people fall short, they "want" but they don't want to put the work in. Amstel was definitely dreaming of snatching some of that meat from the plate. Later that night we found him rooting in the trash can for the meat wrapper.
I very much believe in this too. It's usually taking away resistance and just letting things flow that seems to be the hardest part.
What about calling it greyhound or silver bullet? ;<)
Beautiful pictures and I'm happy for you! Well deserved.
P.S. Seems like you fell for your own ( 2016 ) April's Fool joke ;<)
Couldn't help but notice that your wish for that car was posted on April 1st, 6 years ago.
Why do so many fight "the flow"? Maybe it's because they feel out of control. That is the best part for me.
I love "Greyhound". That might just be it. Thanks for the suggestion!
You're right about the date. The article was posted on WIRED on March 31, 2016 but I posted in on April Fool's Day.
:<)
Congratulations!!!!
I am so excited.
The more exciting thing is the fact that you wanted it a couple of years back and worked so hard to achieve the goal.
By the way your pictures are so nice.
Silver ghost is a really nice name and I don't think it's lame...
If you don't mind, how much does an electric car cost and how much power is required to get it moving.
Thank you! Here's the info on the Model 3 it's definitely not a cheap car but it will have almost zero maintenance compared to a petrol car. Pretty much all you have to do is get new tires for it. I should be able to drive this for at least ten years.
Wow
It is equally a farsighted forethought. You are indeed contributing to a sustainable world at a time when the world is engrossed with climate challenges issues. My father last year wanted to buy a scooter, he was in a dilemma whether to go with a petrol engine or an EV. Finally, he settled with EV. He is more than happy today because of the rising fuel prices. For him, it might be the affirmation to get rid of running and operation costs, but for me persuading him to buy an EV is the affirmation of a long-term goal that is sustainability, lowering the carbon footprint as much as we can.
Eric, I wish I could buy your book, I am a little short of the required amount to buy, but One day I will. If I recollect my memory of engagement with you your content(in the past), is no less than medicine for a content consumer like me. More power to you. God bless you.
I'm so glad you father decided to go with the EV scooter. He's going to be more happy every day that he made that choice. Gas prices are only going up from here!
Where are you located? If it's not too difficult to get you a copy I'd be happy to send you one. Bless you as well and I hope you have a good week.
I am from India(Eastern part). I think the book is available on Amazon.com, I was trying to find that on Amazon.in, if any local store is selling it?
Hi Eric, it seems that buying a Tesla car has been your dream for a long time. And you've been expecting it since 2016 as you posted on your Facebook. Hopefully the ordered car will arrive safely and of course you are satisfied with it. Have a nice day, Eric.
Thank you Eliana!
That is awesome. It is inspiring for those of us still in the planning stages of our books.
There is a Tony Robbins quote (and I don't usually quote Tony Robbins), but it goes something like "belief without action is delusion." It was in one of his earlier books. I was reminded of that by what you wrote.
Too many people misunderstand the "law of attraction" or whatever the flavour of the day is. The misunderstanding, in my opinion, is that, somehow, by belief and visualization alone, we can sort of magically manifest our desires. Rather, the belief and visualization -- what goes on between our ears -- is the beginning and the driving force. I suppose it is the compass and the map. When we visualize and really have a clear image of what we want, opportunities we might not have recognized suddenly appear. That is the magic.
I liked when I read what you (and Tony Robbins) said -- basically, making the point that belief is great, but we need to place a foundation of action and good habits under that.
By the way, I think you are very kind and generous. I read xplosive's post, and I have seen your generosity towards him in the past. I hope it does not embarass you that I mention this, but I find kindness to be unfortunately rare, and it does my heart good to see it. Maybe you feel the same way.
!BEER
Yes, I was a big fan of Tony when I was younger. He set me on the course my life is on now.
I agree about your assessment of the Law of Attraction. I view our mindset as a magnet to help shift conditions in this physical world to make it easier for us to WORK towards what we want. You certainly can't just wish for something and have it come true. The work is such an important part of it and the work makes you appreciate the thing you desire all the more.
I appreciate the kind words. I have been so very fortunate in my life I feel it is my duty to help others when I can. It's my pleasure to help when I can and when I'm called to do it.
I held this philosophy until I couldn't anymore. You held it for 6 years without even knowing... That's simply amazing, honestly. I know it works but it also takes a lot of grace. Congratulations!
Thank you!
Seeing the price of a brand new Tesla Model 3, probably I could not achieve this even in six decades. Haha. 😂
!LOLZ.
They are definitely not cheap vehicles but I hope it pays me back in years of trouble free driving and lower maintenance/operating costs. Fingers are crossed. : )

That's pretty awesome! I am glad you are doing your research and making sure you are prepared. I think that will help a lot in the grand scheme things. I am really excited for you. I can't wait to see your posts on it when you get it.
Thanks! I can't wait. The tech geek part of brain is buzzing. : ) I finally got WiFi connectivity sorted. Since we part in an underground garage and our condo is five stories above I was having trouble figuring out how to get the OTA updates for the car. I learned I can use the iPhone as a hotspot to get those updates downloaded and it can even be done while you're driving.
That is very cool! That also makes a lot more sense. When I read your earlier post I was thinking "wait, how does he not have WiFi". But then I got thinking maybe it was your way of unplugging, so I wasn't going to argue :) It's amazing just how connected everything is these days. I was really digging the heads up display in the BMW we just rented.
Yes, when we finally move from the condo I'll be able to connect directly to the home WiFi and that will be SO much more convenient. This will work for now, thankfully we have unlimited data on our phones or I'd be up a creek. Some of the downloads are massive.
It IS amazing how connected everything is and this is just the beginning. Tesla saves your profile to the cloud so everything in the car (mirrors, seats, radio presets, temp, etc) adjusts automatically in any Tesla you drive.
It's funny you mention heads up displays. I was just telling my wife it would be nice if the Tesla had this for just the most important info. Maybe there's an aftermarket solution. BMW is awesome. They're always on the forefront of tech. I can't wait to see how they compete with Tesla once they catch up. I think they say Tesla is still around 8 years ahead of anyone else. Which model did you rent?
It was the X2 28i I think or something like that. They actually had a couple of options for me to choose from, but as soon as they said BMW I was pretty much sold. I threw some pictures of it in my latest post.
Yes, I know that model. It's a great looking SUV. My brother has the M6 and loves it. Their ride quality is usually a LOT different than an American car.
I really didn't get to play around with it too much. I saw there was a sport and eco mode, but I just left it in the default. We didn't have a lot of time to familiarize ourselves with it between picking it up, packing, and hitting the road the next morning.
Wow. The power of words and working towards it. You gave birth to your dream and it was engraved in you somehow. You also worked towards it and that makes all the difference. This is amazing sir. Congratulations on this. Would love to see the interior of the car when it lands. Amstel would love to jump in too hahaha.
Happy new month, sir.
Thank you @olawalium! He's going to be riding in EV style. : ) I hope you have a great April my friend!
I hope you do too, sir. EV style it is hahaha
The main magician who fulfills our dreams is ourselves. Any of our "desires" can remain an eternal unfulfilled desire, if we do not make attempts to realize it. It makes no sense to advise how to name your beauty, I think only you and your loved ones should do this.
That is so true. We have so much more power than we realize.
That would send shivers down my spine as well, thinking something in a positive light eventually reminded of the original thought via a post. Hard work always required to achieve, nothing in life is free, even freedom comes at a cost.
Sorry no assistance with owning electrical cars, would have to really be brave in South Africa with rolling blackouts happening over the past fourteen years now to purchase one.
!LUV
(9/10) gave you LUV.

What made it even more strange is it was almost exactly six years to the day from when I wrote that post in 2016 to when I ordered the car (cue Twilight Zone theme). That is so true...absolutely everything comes at a cost.
It's going to be an interesting adventure for me because I have no way to charge at home. Thankfully we have some charging stations close by.
I hope you enjoy your weekend, Joan!
By the time the car arrives I am sure you will have run electricity into the garage at home to ensure many happy miles driving knowing it will take you where you need to be.
Sometimes things do come back to remind us, that was actually a very nice way with proof of what you had said.
Happy weekend!
You just made me see the possibilities that exists in the world in the realization of my dreams sir, which starts with saying it, allowing it come into our subsconscious, working towards it and crossing over the line to tick the box. This is wonderful sir and congratulations. If you can do it, I can do it too. That educational grant I hope to use to help many people, I will get it and it would be a reality. I hope there would be a reminder on this post too.
Well done sir and congratulations once again.
Finally you got what you wished for.
Its true that we have to put efforts in order to get achieve our goals in life. No efforts, no results.
