What a lovely story @ericvancewalton!
I had a nice chuckle at the little boy who wanted to take that crying baby back!
I'll never forget how disappointed my oldest son was when his baby brother could not get out of that cot and play with him! And why was his brother born without teeth!
We also used to go 'window shopping' for entertainment & drive to the airport and watch the planes take off. As we lived close to the harbour, we used to go and look at all the ships; some had tours and of course that was really exciting for a small child. My children could not believe that we used to gather around the radio to listen to the radio dramas (before the days of tv) ;)
Times really have changed!
Thank you for this project, I'm remembering some really good memories!

Thank you my friend! That's funny about your oldest son! It's so confusing when they're first brought home, especially if the first born doesn't have any other siblings.
Many of the things like, "window shopping" and watching planes take off would seem boring to people of younger generations but they're nice memories to have. We used to also ride around and look at Christmas light displays during the Holidays.
It's unbelievable how much life as changed in just fifty years! I think we'll see even more change in the next fifty. Thank you for participating in this. It's been so much fun for me to read all of the posts!
Enjoy your weekend @lizelle!
So right, things have changed enormously!
We also used to drive to the city centre and look at the Christmas lights; cars used to queue up at the Drive-ins for movies; so many simple pleasures that today's children would scoff at.
We're having a calmer weekend with a nice quiet family in the cottage, Easter was crazy here! Had a hot hot day yesterday, lovely and cool today, Durban's like that; can even experience all 4 seasons in one day!
Have a fabulous Sunday @ericvancewalton :)
Oh, I remember drive-in movies and "car hop" diners. I'm glad you're having a calm weekend. Now that I work for myself I tend to lose track of what day it is, what a nice feeling that is! Winter is hanging on here in Minnesota. It's 18 degrees (Fahrenheit) this morning and we still have snow in the forecast for the coming week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
