Aladdin and the Magic Lamp

Aladdin finally visits the sultan and the marriage contract is written, which means Aladdin is now legally married to Princess Badrou'l-Budour.
But, surprisingly, Aladdin does not immediately meet his new wife. He has decided first to build a new palace worthy of his bride!
ON THE TWENTY-SEVENTH NIGHT
Sheherazade said:
Aladdin said to the genie of the lamp: "And that's all I want from you, for today!"
Now, as soon as Aladdin finished speaking that the genie, after the answer of hearing and obedience, hastened to disappear, but returned after a while with the horse, the forty-eight young slaves, the twelve young girls, the forty-eight bags of five thousand dinars each, and the twelve dresses of different fabrics and colors. And everything was of the requested quality, if not even better. And Aladdin took possession of everything and dismissed the genie, saying to him: "I will call you as soon as I need you!" And, wasting no time, he took leave of his mother, kissing her hands once more, and placed the twelve adolescent slaves at his service, recommending them to spare nothing to satisfy their mistress and to teach her the way of life. to put on the beautiful dresses they had brought.
After which Aladdin hastened to mount his horse, and leave the courtyard of his house. And although it was the first time that he was on the back of a horse, he knew how to hold on to it with elegance and firmness that the most accomplished riders would have envied him. And he set off, according to the plan of the procession he had imagined, preceded by twenty-four slaves, ranged in two rows of twelve, accompanied, on both sides, by four slaves who held the cords of the cover of the horse, and followed by the others, who brought up the rear.
However, as soon as the procession entered the streets, an immense crowd, much larger than that which had rushed to meet the first procession, gathered on all sides, both in the souks and on the windows and The terraces. And the forty-eight slaves then proceeded, following the orders which had been given them by Aladdin, to take gold from their sacks and to throw them by the handfuls, now to the right and now to the left, to the people who were pressing forward. on their footsteps. And cheers resounded throughout the city, as much for the generosity of the magnificent donor as for the beauty of the horseman and his splendid slaves. For Aladdin, on his horse, was really beautiful to see, with his face made even more charming by the virtue of the magic lamp, his royal demeanor, and the diamond plume that swayed on his turban. And so it was amid the cheers and wonder of an entire people that Aladdin arrived at the palace, where the rumor of his coming had already preceded him, and where everything had been prepared to receive him with all the honors due to the husband of Princess Badrou'l-Boudour.
Now, the sultan was waiting for him precisely at the top of the main staircase which opened onto the second courtyard. And as soon as Aladdin, aided by the grand-vizier himself who held the stirrup for him, had dismounted, the sultan descended two or three steps in his honor. And Aladdin went up to the sultan and wanted to prostrate himself in front of him; but he was prevented from doing so by the sultan who, amazed at his presence, his handsome air, and the richness of his dress, received him in his arms and kissed him as if he were his own child. And, at the same time, the air resounded with cheers from all the emirs, viziers, and guards, and the sound of trumpets, clarinets, oboes, and drums. And the sultan, with his arm around Aladdin's neck, led him into the great reception hall, and made him sit down beside him on the bed of the throne, and kissed him a second time and said to him: “By Allah, O my son Aladdin, I very much regret that my destiny did not make me meet you before this day, and to have thus deferred for three months your marriage with my daughter Badrou'l-Budour, your slave!" And Aladdin knew how to answer this in such a charming way that the sultan felt his love for him increase and said to him: “Certainly! O Aladdin, what king could not wish to have you as the husband of his daughter!" And he began to talk with him and to question him with much affection, and to admire the wisdom of his answers and the eloquence and finesse of his speeches. And he had a magnificent feast prepared in the throne room itself, and ate alone with Aladdin, being served by the grand-vizier, whose nose, in spite, stretched out to the limit of length, and by the emirs and other high dignitaries.
When the meal was over, the sultan, who did not want to delay the fulfillment of his promise any longer, summoned the kâdi and the witnesses and ordered them to write on the spot the marriage contract of Aladdin and his daughter the Princess Badrou'l-Budour. And the kadi, in the presence of the witnesses, hastened to carry out the order and to write the contract in all the forms required by the Book and the Sunnah. And when he had finished, the sultan kissed Aladdin, and said to him: "O my son, is it this very night that you want to enter the nuptial chamber for consumption?" And Aladdin answered: “O great king, indeed! if I only listened to the great love I feel for my wife, it is this very evening that I would enter for consumption. But I want it to be done in a palace worthy of the princess and of her own. Allow me then to defer the full realization of my happiness until I have built the palace I intend for it. And, for this purpose, I beg you to grant me the concession of a vast piece of land located opposite your palace, so that my wife is not too far from her father and that I myself can always be near you, to serve you! And I, for my part, undertake to have this palace built as soon as possible!" And the sultan answered: “Ah! my son, you hardly need to ask me for this permission! Take, in front of my palace, all the land you need. But hurry, I beg you, that this palace is completed as soon as possible; for I would very much like to enjoy the posterity of my descendants before I die!" And Aladdin smiled and said: "Let the king ease his mind on this!" The palace will be built with more diligence than he can wish for!" And he took leave of the sultan, who embraced him tenderly, and returned to his house, with the same procession which had accompanied him, amidst the acclamations of the people and wishes for happiness and prosperity.
Now, as soon as he returned to his house, he informed his mother of what had happened and hastened to retire, alone, to his room. And he took the magic lamp and rubbed it, as usual...

But, surprisingly, Aladdin does not immediately meet his new wife. He has decided first to build a new palace worthy of his bride!
I can relate to it because the marriage concept for Chinese men is to have their own house.
Firstly, in traditional Chinese culture, the concept of marriage regards it as not only a personal matter but also a family matter for both the man and woman. Therefore, building a house for marriage by the groom's family can demonstrate their sincerity and respect towards the bride's family, as well as showcase the groom's family's economic strength and social status. In traditional culture, the groom's family is expected to bear more wedding and dowry expenses, and building a house is one of the significant expenses.
Secondly, building a house for marriage is also a reflection of the traditional Chinese family concept. In the traditional view, marriage is the union of two families, not just two individuals. Therefore, building a house by the groom's family can provide a stable and comfortable family environment for both the couple and lay the foundation for future family life.
Finally, building a house can also bring certain benefits to the groom's family. In traditional Chinese culture, property is considered a valuable asset that can increase a family's wealth and social status. Building a house for marriage not only meets the needs of the marriage but also brings a certain level of improvement to the family's wealth and social status.
In summary, the custom of men building houses for marriage originates from the traditional Chinese marriage and family concepts. It reflects the groom's family's attitude towards respecting the bride's family and taking on family responsibilities. Building a house can also provide a stable and comfortable family environment for both the couple and bring certain benefits to the groom's family.
Hello @vcelier, good day! Thanks for sharing another part of the story. I really enjoy reading it.
As time went on, I was amazed by Aladdin's displayed maturity and wisdom. I am amazed by the wise decisions he makes. After all, he is still young and he doesn't have advisers to teach him what to do, but his actions seem very intelligent. First, his strategy of making an elaborate procession so that people in the city would recognize him was a way for him to impress the Sultan. But his refusal to see the Princess because he wants to build a palace is even more impressive in the eyes of the Sultan. That's why it made the Sultan even happier.
Because I liked what I read, I enjoyed reading this story even more.
Showing wealth to someone makes a good impression, even the Sultan was amazed by Aladdin's display. Although we know that Aladdin comes from a poor family, that is no longer important for the Sultan. For him, the important thing is Aladdin's current status. Of course, I can't blame the Sultan if Aladdin's display impressed him, who wouldn't, right? For him, Pincess's marriage is secured and for him, the future of his kingdom is also secured.
So, Aladdin's plan is to build a palace in honor of his wife, the Princess. Surely he will make it grand! There is no doubt when it comes to that. How he will do this is another exciting part of the story. That's something we'll be looking forward to in the next part of the story, I can't wait :)
So Aladdin also enhanced his face with the magic of the lamp! I guess it's to make his wealthy appearance complete.
This chapter is captivating with vivid descriptions of Aladdin's procession and visit to the Sultan. The image of throwing gold coins to the people conveys his wealth and generosity but also reminds me of politicians. 😅 In my country, this is what they do to convince the populace to vote in their favour.
The scene where Aladdin meets the Sultan was the highlight of the story for me. The description of the Sultan's reception of Aladdin is vivid and heartwarming. Its easy to feel the love and admiration the Sultan had for him. Even so much as to give him a land opposite the palace! Will the grand-vizier allow this to happen? I ask because if Aladdin's popularity continues this way, he may be the next Sultan! 😅 Thanks for sharing this story.
Who knows? 😃
When Aladdin encounters difficulties, he thinks of the magic lamp. But what if the lamp disappears? He's truly worried about his future life with the princess!
"Self-help is the best help" is an old saying that emphasizes the importance of self-reliance. Its meaning is that it is better to rely on one's own efforts to solve problems than to depend on others. Here are several reasons why self-help is important:
Enhancing autonomy and independence: If we get used to relying on others, we will lose our autonomy and independence, which is detrimental to personal growth and development. By making our own efforts, we can improve our abilities and skills, becoming more confident and self-reliant.
Increasing self-worth and confidence: When we can complete tasks and overcome difficulties independently, we feel our own value and ability, which enhances our self-confidence and self-esteem. In contrast, if we always rely on others, we may feel incompetent or worthless.
Reducing the risk of depending on others: Depending on others is not always reliable. We may lose this help, leading to the obstruction of our plans and goals. If we can solve problems independently, we can reduce the risk of depending on others and avoid the difficulties that may result from losing help.
Enhancing problem-solving ability: If we constantly rely on others, our problem-solving ability may weaken. However, when we solve problems independently, we can better understand and address them, which will help us better handle similar issues in the future.
In summary, "self-help is the best help" emphasizes the importance of self-reliance, which has significant implications for personal growth and development, as well as success in real life.
Indeed, what will happen then? 😃
Looking forward to your story😀
The day Aladdin has been waiting for a long time has come today and we are all very happy. Aladdin's happiness can be gauged from the way he is repeatedly kissing his mother's hands and expressing his happiness. When a person loves someone, he wants to buy the happiness of the whole world and give it to that person, as we saw that Aladdin is preparing a house for a princess first and inside it is everything that a princess needs.
The Sultan is very much impressed by Aladdin and the way Aladdin enters on his magnificent horse is very impressive. All this honor or whatever Allah Deen is getting is the result of his clear heart if he was greedy he could have got a lot but he didn't get anything that way.
As far as I can see the minister is very sad inside seeing all this because his son could not live with the princess. The best thing is that the house built by Allah Din is right next to the Sultan's house, the advantage is that the Sultan's daughter can meet her father whenever she wants.
The way we have seen that the Chinese way of getting married has been done by Aladdin in exactly the same way and it is a very glorious thing and the whole world is watching.
While Aladdin's love for the princess is set in stone, it seems that he succeeded to earn also Sultan's acceptance. More than that, Aladdin seems not in a hurry to jump into bed with the princess, but rather wants to build a palace never seen before. Also, I like that he admires Sultan's wisdom and wants to stay close to him, becoming now a big family.
Despite his great wealth, Aladdin remains respectful to his mother and seeks to provide for her and his wife. A true gentleman or just a common sense? It is crazy how the media changed this and suddenly women were second-class humans. Now we are going into another extreme I think. Feminism is necessary just not in this form. We will be back at ground zero, I guess. So what will be following in 50 years? masculism? We really need that lamp!

The story is beautiful, as Alladin was a noble-hearted person, he distributed coins to the people, it was not to flaunt his wealth, but he gave to the people of the town, but knowing what it is to live in poverty. As they say, it is better to give...
To amaze the Sultan not only with his costumes, but also with his knowledge and wisdom, what a beautiful detail for the princess and the Sultan to build a palace for his beloved wife, worthy of her, close to the Sultan's.
A daughter always wants to be close to her parents to keep an eye on them, Alladin did not want to separate the Sultan from her daughter, build her a palace near her, he will be able to see her every day, more than her future she descended from her.
The relationship seen here is beautiful, between Alladin and his mother who tells him everything that happened, I imagine her mother full of pride and love for her son to see how her dreams come true.
I look forward to the next chapter, I want to know when the princess and Alladin see each other.
Who says it's just a story? It has emotions, it has action, it has fun, it has politics, it has thrill, it has everything. Today I know why the story of Aladdin is so famous, because this story is very old, probably from the era when TV and movies were not in vogue and on that time people used to entertain themselves by reading stories.
I am not saying that this story is the best story in this world, I believe that there are better stories written but what I am saying is that in the time when this story was written, there is not much technology. Back then, people generally read stories and lived a very simple life, So those people were very lucky that they got to read such a story in their era.
Now we come back to our story, there is no doubt that Aladdin left no stone unturned to please the Sultan and did everything he could to impress Sultan. As we read in the previous part of the story and as Aladdin thought, he entered the Sultan's palace in the same manner.
But I would like to highlight one negative thing here
The way Sultan honored Aladdin and embraced him and made him sit with him and how happily he was getting his daughter married to Aladdin and like saying to the Aladdin, Which king would not marry his daughter to you?
If Aladdin was the old Aladdin, before he got the lamp, would the king treat him like this?
My answer is "Obviously not".
(This is all about to money)
Well, I made just a hypothetical point.
Aladdin has taken permission from the Sultan to build another palace in front of his. Now let's see what the king's reaction is when Aladdin builds his beautiful and luxurious palace in front of the his palace.
Waiting for the next thriller.......
Movies started at the beginning of the XXth century and TV after World War II.
This story was first published at the beginning of the XVIIth century, long before movies and TV.
Alright, thanks for letting me know.
First of all I would like to Thank you for writing this story on the daily basis for all of us. I can't tell about everyone, but I can only say about my self, I'm really enjoying it, missed two or three episode due to some family reasons, but read them when I got free time.
Today's part is all about Aladdin and his preparation to got to meet the Sultan. I like Upon leaving his home, he kissed the hand of his mother and toke her prayers and blessings with him,
I just can't imagine the amount of dinar he ordered the Aladdin to arrange to present to the Sultan. 48 bags of 5000 dinars. If I calculate them it it gives us 240000 dinars, This is huge huge huge. any Sultan could get impressed by these gifts.
When he entered the streets with all these , all the people in the souk gathered around Aladdin, and starting admiring the Aladdin generosity and Aladdin in happiness as a result distributed the Gold coins among all these people.
It was the Success of Aladdin that Sultan himself welcome him and met with all the joy and happiness.
the vizier also welcome the Aladdin and with no choice he present food to Aladdin.
Can't wait to read about the Palace he is about to built for Princess, The love of his life.
Aladdin got these dinars not as a present to the sultan, but as gifts to the people in the streets.
Okay got it @vcelier, thanks for correcting me.
Aladdin and the Sultan agree to the terms of the marriage and draw up the contract. Aladdin doesn't know the princess but what does it matter let's remember that it is a marriage contract and the princess has nothing to say. It is the will of the Sultan that counts in this case.
Now Aladdin is preparing to fulfill his part of the contract thanks to the genius of the lamp.
But that he will hold the future for Aladdin? Will he follow his good fortune? Or will fate bring some unpleasant surprise to our protagonist?
And the magic happened as Aladdin gains the Sultan's trust and he is given the princess hand at last. Now he wants to build a future for her in the form of a palace, close to her parents. The love between the young princess and Aladdin is yet to take shape and that's what I am waiting to see unfold.
