Steemit Suggestions box : Customizable User Interface

in #suggestions8 years ago (edited)

In order to increase the new users retention, the possibility for users to select a list of favorites Tags, providing an accurate feed on their Steemit New, Hot and Trending page, could be very efficient (for existing users as well). These data could be collected during the registration process, or by adding a check mark on the Steemit Tags/Topics page.

Every users are unique and important, there are a lot of quality posts getting too little attention or upvotes, not due to a lack of readers, but because these posts might be hard/time consuming to find for their potential interested users.

I am by nature interested by all the topics, and disciplined to allocate time for upvoting, reading, commenting, browsing, surfing, posting, engaging, ENJOYING, but just don't have enough time for it, so i will NEVER get bored on Steemit, neither frustrated as i consider that a payout is a bonus not a necessity, the count of votes and comments are indeed more rewarding.
Some users are interested by specifics tags/topics, and their feedback is that they don't feel "at home" with the main New,hot and trending page, maybe this improvement could help retain and gain new users ?

I came to this conclusion and suggestion, after trying to invite my family, close relatives and friends to join on Steemit.
Having the amazing opportunity to "host" your blog, thoughts, images, ideas...for free on Steemit.com and eventually getting paid for this is enough to raise the attention, but to catch and retain the versatile user we should to give them what they want.

If a user is interested to browse the New, Hot and trending from the Tag "writing", then he need to click on "show more topics..." then go down to the bottom of the tags list to click one more time on "writing" (he could also type directly in the browser window "https://steemit.com/trending/writing" but few will) . For many users clicking 2 times to find what they are interested for is much too long.

In most of families, all the members have a FB account, some have others like instagram or twitter or else, i think that when all the member of a family will have a Steemit account and enjoy the TIME they spend on it, then the value of Steem will grow faster.

Thank you for reading, your comments will be must appreciated, and if you have any suggestions, write a post about it.
