I've been thinking about refusing to pay the TV license for a while but never quite plucked up the courage. In a reasonable, fair society I would be able to go to court and present the irrefutable evidence that the BBC are liars but unfortunately things don't seem to work that way.
I think at least one person has been able to argue that that they should not pay their TV license due to the BBC lying (they used the fact that the BBC reported building 7 collapsing before it actually did) but I work for the government so I have to be careful in the battles I choose to fight.
The information contained on that site is unbelievable at times. How the BBC get away with such things is beyond me.
Thanks for reading/commenting.
If you don't want to fund BBC then don't, I haven't since 2006. You don't have to explain yourself or defend yourself. Just cancel it and the payments to them and then that's it. Don't engage with them in anyway, shape or form after that. Don't even put "Return to Sender" on their letters or withdraw their rights of access, just tell them you don't need their 'license' anymore. There's nothing they can do against you, your property or possessions about it.
